Nice Tent - Seam Tape was cracked

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Pretty awesome tent. We used it Friday night for the first time. It was a crappy, cold, rainy night and I was excited that the tent would be put through its paces. Until I noticed water dripping onto the screening. It wasn't terrible. We made it through the night.

Once we got home, I set everything up. As I was inspecting everything, I noticed that that the seam tap was cracked and crumbling in a few spots.

We'll probably go out and grab some seam sealer, but that's kind of a disappointing. Our old "cheap" Kelty is still holding water out without any seam sealing.

Love this tent

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Awesome design - this tent is huge and is more like a 4 person tent. Three of us used this tent in Iceland and we had tons of room - packs small and weighs less then a conventional 2 person tent. Very easy setup. We had some issues with the seam seal tape degrading and the velcro pole attachment points coming off but Easton were quick to fix that for us and at no charge. This tent has been discontinued and I am sorry to hear that - this is a great tent that has taken us thru buckets of rain, blusterly conditions and even some snow loads and it took great care of us. Highly recommend this tent but double check the seam tape if you decide to buy it!

Easton AirLock Connectors

Developed at Easton, this patent-pending pole linkage system is 59% lighter than traditional aluminum inserts with bulky shock-cord. Airlock uses a short tether between each section and poles snap together to increase strength at every connection point.
