Description

Carbon hard-on.

A full 100 grams lighter than the alloy iteration, the Easton Haven Carbon Riser Handlebar is perfect for lift-served terrain or shuttles -- we find it more adept to enduro racing on wide-open trails. But, regardless of how you choose to use it, you're guaranteed a lightweight, rigid, and comfortable pair of bars.

Easton made sure that the Carbon Riser Handlebar was consistent with the entire Haven mission: Make it all-mountain tough. So, the Haven Carbon Handlebar is actually stronger than most alloy bars. This is due to a number of factors, foremost being Easton's computer-controlled, TaperWall material application.

This not only means that the bar is digitally designed, but that the layup itself is computer-controlled. This system prevents any flaws or voids in the construction that lead to later weaknesses. The result of the process is a handlebar that's laid up to work as a single-piece bar. This design allows stress forces to move along the entire length of the bar, rather than overloading any single portion.

Full-on DH'ers may want to go even wider (look at the Havoc Carbon instead), but for everyone else, this is the no compromises bar du jour.

The Easton Haven Carbon Riser Handlebar is made of uni-directional carbon fiber and has a Matte Carbon finish with White and Champagne Haven logos. The 711mm wide bar has a 20mm rise, 9-degree backsweep, and 5-degree upsweep. It mates to a 31.8mm oversize stem clamp.

Could have been a little wider...

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I upgraded my EA70 XC 685mm handlebar to this after a month or so riding my SB66C! This is the older version 711mm, the new version is 740mm and 750mm for the 35 version.

The carbon bars feels much easier on your hands and I get a much better feel of the trail I'm riding but at the same time it's not hard on your hands and I can ride longer, harder and I won't be as sore as I would on my original alloy version.

I'm short and don't have much reach at 5'5" and regular sized arms for my height, so the 711mm is a good width but definitely not wide enough for a faster/quicker all mountain/enduro type of riding if you are a bigger person!

With all that said, it was a great upgrade and worthy upgrade, like I said much better riding feel compared to alloy! Only 4 stars because I wish it was wider since you can always make it smaller if you need to!

I love the width and feel of this bar.
Oh and it's light!
Holds up to impacts as well!

Perfect

Best bar I've had. Fits me and the bike perfect. Can't believe I ever rode with a narrower bar. Will never go with a bar narrower than this again. The added control is very confidence inspiring.

Who doesn't love carbon?!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Like you're probably already aware, or as I'm sure you've read in other reviews. The Easton Haven Carbon is one of the best bars you can fit to your ride for trail use. Just the right width for a "stubby" stem (70mm) and a gentle sweep that keeps your wrists and palms happy. Steers wonderfully too! My favorite part about using this bar besides the geometry being right for my needs, is just how much these bars reduce the resonance felt when using aluminum bars. I'll never go back to aluminum!

Strong and durable, has stood up to some sizable drops, and more spills than I care to admit too..

Fitted to a 2012 Trek Fuel EX 8 along w/ Easton Haven stem.

great bar

this is a great carbon bar. It does an awesome job of damping trail vibration and the slight sweep makes it steer very well. Nice and stiff too. Overall great bar

Smooths out the chop

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These handlebars do a good job of dampening small vibrations while riding to help you get the most from your longer rides. The finish looks good with subtle Easton logos underneath the clearcoat. I don't mind the 711mm width, but some may prefer a little bit wider handlebar when paired with a short stem.

Nice width carbon bar for trail use.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've tried other bars but always go back to Easton because they seem to have the sweep I like. At 711 mm these are perfect for trail use. Stealthy finish and subdued graphics also a plus. I swapped these in after running some wider aluminums and was surprised at how much better carbon bars feel in terms of reducing vibration.
