Get behind these bars.

As 29ers have evolved and gained mainstream acceptance, we've witnessed riders drift from flat bars sporting ubiquitous barends to trendy moto-esque riser bars. However, after thousands of miles and countless forum flame wars, flat bars are now becoming the bars of choice for 29ers. And, Easton's aluminum flat bar, the EA70 XC Wide Handlebar, has quickly become one of the more popular handlebars for both the 29er and single-speed sects.

This is because they deliver the width and sweep of a riser bar, without raising the front end even higher than it already is. Another reason for this bar's popularity is its 720mm (28in) width, and Easton's reputation for making quality components.

Each design has to pass rigorous testing developed through more than two decades of refinement for sports as widely varied as baseball, hockey, and lacrosse. And to ensure the utmost quality, the testing is done at Easton's in-house quality lab. A result of this testing, Easton increased this bar's wall thickness in the clamping areas to make sure they're plenty strong.

The Easton EA70 XC Wide Handlebar features an ergonomic, wrist-pleasing nine-degree bend and has a 31.8mm clamp diameter. Its durable anodized black finish will look great for many miles.

Why are you selling this bar for $9 more...

Posted on

Why are you selling this bar for $9 more than Easton's MSRP (their website)?? It's heavy too, to pay that much for it.

Responded on

If we are selling that for $9 more we may be able to price match that for you. We'll match any competitor's published price (the price currently listed on an authorized retailer's website) for an identical item (same size, color and year) in new condition. If you found the better price on one of our competitor's sites, contact us within 48 hours of placing your order and we'll credit the difference on the card used with the order (auction sites do not apply).

Just chat in and ask for Jared Da. if you want to place an order for that today.

Best bar for the price

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm running this on all my bikes and you can't beat it for the price. Light, stiff, and wide. Oh, and if you crash with theirs no worry that if might fail on you later down the trail.

Decent

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was torn between carbon and aluminum this time around. I went this route. Still unsure if I should have gone carbon. But these make it close.

Awesome Not-Super-Wide, Wide XC Bar

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Running the Easton EA70 Flat/Wide bars on my single-speed 29er. I dig them. They are wide, but not too wide which is nice. Didn't have to cut them down to fit my needs as a 5'9ish dude. They are a little stiff for my rigid setup but if you are running a suspension fork up front you have no reason to go avoid this bar. They look great with the stealthy grey graphics and match the EA70 stem perfectly. They are light, and a great vale as well. It will probably last forever...literally.
