Easton EA70 Wheelset - 700C - 2008 BCS

I have a pair of Easton Havocs on my mountain bike and got these Easton EA 70s for my sweet new Opera road bike. I only have 60 miles on the wheels but they are smooth and can take a hit. I have not noticed the hubs being loud as others have mentioned here.

I normally don't write reviews for products. When I first purchased these, i tried looking for other reviews and when i couldn't find many - i was skeptical. after About 1000 miles, these wheels have done exactly what I wanted them to do. run fast, run true and stay fast and true! I used to be skeptical about a wheelset making your Ride better. I used to have mavics on 105 hubs and after replacing Them with these... I swear that I'm able to accelerate faster, feel no flex when pumping hard and even after a few jumps, the wheels have Stayed true and hubs spin great. - By the way - there is some "ratcheting" noise form the hub... but I love that 'noise"!! Ride strong ya'll.

Although people complain about the loud ratcheting sound from the hub, it's because nobody has bothered to break in the wheels before reviewing them. After 600 miles, basically they are as loud as any other wheel I've ever owned.

I'm 210 lbs, and I climb some serious hills.

The wheels are still completely true, totally stable, and I like them a lot. They are relatively inexpensive, they are great for climbing, and what is most important to me - low maintenance.

These aren't the lightest wheels on the planet and certainly wouldn't call them a race wheel, but they are a very solid everyday trainer and don't think you'll find a better option in this $ range. The hub does make the ratchet noise when you're not peddling, but I've never found that to be a problem with this wheel or any other.

Nice light wheel set which is what I wanted to have for climbing the hills. I also ordered a 12-27 Cassette which I had installed on the EASTON Wheel set which has been awesome for getting me back on the rode and back to my training. Something that I have added to my training is not spinning while riding. Why you ask? Well the EASTON hub is not what I believed it to be and that was QUIET, this HUB is very loud and not at all what I wanted in a expensive hug such as this. To loud on the ratcheting and not what I would recommend.

This wheel set is a good option for those looking to get a nice light wheel. It's good for climbing, and for cruisin' around town. The hub does seem to be a bit loud, but it's still a good wheel.
