Easton EA70 Wheelset - 700C - 2008 BCS
Available Colors / Styles
Easton's EA70 700C Wheelset gives the dedicated club racer or the training pro a balanced diet of long-distance comfort, fine-tuned response, and bulletproof durability. The EA70's shallow-dish rim profile and radial front lacing track straight in crosswinds without losing straight-line aero efficiency, while the forged EA70 aluminum and high spoke count take a beating without going out-of-true.
Bottom Line: The EA70 Wheelset is Easton's tough multi-tool for road training and racing.

Total Junk.

This wheelset is not strong enough to withstand riding or training. I purchased my wheelset in September 2008. I have put 2000 miles on the wheelset. I lost a spoke on the drive side yesterday. I took the cassette off to inspect the broken spoke. The freehub had serious damage. The cassette had chewed into it. I called Easton for warranty service. The representative told me both the spoke and freehub are use items and would not be replaced under warranty. I asked why the freehub had damage and was told I used a low end cassette. I told the rep. I have an Ultegra cassette on the wheel. I was told I should have used a Dura Ace Cassette. Their solution is to buy a quality component.... Well that is what I will do and anyone considering this wheelset should do the same.

Heavier riders (200#-210#) beware! I purchased a set of these wheels thinking that they would do the trick for a rider of my weight. (High spoke count, etc). Instead, I have had recurring problems with broken spokes with this wheelset unlike any set of wheels that I have ever owned. Estimate that I am heading to my local bike shop every 200 miles for spoke replacement and am generally riding on nicely paved roads. I am now unofficially known at the shop as "the spoke guy".
Change me.
