Bought this a while back and am completely in love with it! Its very easy to hang and can be hung almost anywhere. Its a very lightweight versatile comfortable alternative to sleeping or laying on the ground. Cuddly up to a good book in the woods with this!

Home away from home

This was the first hammock i ever bought, about 6 years ago. I have slept in it no less than 150 nights, sometimes 15 feet high, sometimes on my porch. Shows very little signs of wear. I have washed it probably 10 times in the washing machine. This is a fairly short hammock, which i prefer because i sleep end to end in the hammock, not diagonally. I have replaced it with a much lighter hammock but often prefer the pronest when weight isnt an issue.

I see that this hammock has a 400 lb limit, is it made for one or two people?

I am looking for a short span hanging...

I am looking for a short span hanging hammock - I plan on hanging it from the ceiling of my vanagon and it looks like I have right at 8 ft to work with - So 3 questions (1) Is 8 ft enough span? (2) What is the sag at 8ft? (How far is the sag from the hang point?) (3) I am 6^3 and 240# is there room in this for any diagonal (assuming the 8ft hang) ?

I appreciate any help that I can get.

When this hammock is pulled tight (like a guitar string tight) it measures 8 feet long. 8 feet is the maximum span that the hammock itself can cover (the straps allow for adjusting between spans). As you narrow the distance of the span, you're going to get more sag in the hammock. When I've set mine up guitar string tight (due to a huge span between trees and maxing out the slap-strap system) there was minimal sag, maybe only 2-3 feet, but the hammock was a nightmare to get in and out of like that. The prime setup I've found is about 6.5-7 linear feet between connections, where you can expect about 3-4 feet of sag in the hammock.



I think you could make this work in the van, but you're going to want secure anchors that don't allow additional stretch like the slap straps sometimes do, and you're probably going to be just a couple inches off of the floor.

The hammocks featured seem to be close to my idea. Do they come with the hardware required to suspend the hammock from my ceiling in my home??
