Great get away
Best Hammock ever! they are light, easy to carry, heavy duty, and very durable , if you are looking for a hammock dont look any further. the double one is so nice with outstanding room//I would buy another one
Double the nest, double the fun!
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Welcome to hammocking in style. this is a heavy duty way to swing with style. This is a quality company and a great construction. Bring a friend, this puppy can handle it.
great for sleeping, full coverage when you are tall like me and want to lay "flat."
just hanging
Best Hammock ever! they are light, compact, sturdy, strong, if you are looking for a hammock dont look any further. the double one is so nice with all the extra room you get! i would get it again
Exactly what you are looking for
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
Im a pretty tall guy at 6'4 but the hammock still has plenty of room. The material feels really solid and my last one (stolen :( ) help up to years of abuse. Excited to replace it with another one of these guys. They are perfect for any time you are lounging near trees!
What's not to love?!
We took my hammock along with us to our engagement pictures. My hammock goes everywhere with me.
Keep it in my car for any adventure!
I am a firm believer that everyone should own one of these. (I actually bought four different people their own for Christmas gifts) The double nest is definitely the way to go, even for just one person. I've taken mine just about everywhere and the quality has lasted wonderfully. I regularly bring my dog along and have yet to find any scratches or tears from her nails. I don't know what it is about hammocks, but every nap I take in it seems to be the best nap of my life! Do not hesitate to buy!!
As a side note, the straps come separately. I would definitely recommend the atlas straps versus the slap strap pro. The atlas straps have many more loops in them that makes it so much more versatile than any other strap out there.
Impromptu hammock powwow
Weather its to a backcountry to wait out bad weather or car camping with friends, this hammock goes everywhere with me.
Always is with me
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
Love my eno doublenest hammock - lightweight, compact and super easy to set up. At first i didnt buy the eno slapstraps because i thought id use a nrs stap instead, but they are not efficient enough and ended up buying the slapstraps which are perfectly compatible and more convenient. A great purchase, take this to the beach, on a hike, even when i go skiing. Love it, dont hesitate to buy
It's a Must Have
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
This hammock is super durable, comfortable, and packs up really nicely so it can be taken anywhere. Mine's taken a lot more abuse than I thought it'd be able to and hasn't been damaged in any way. Only word of warning is to pick your colors carefully to avoid attracting unwanted bugs so probably don't buy ones with lots of bright colors.
Also, if you're wondering how comfortable and relaxing these are, just know that I decided to replace my bed at my parents' house with one of these a while back and use it every night when I'm visiting back home. No regrets.
Keep it with you at all times
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I bring this thing everywhere with me. I just leave it in the back of my truck and use it ALL the time. It's great for camping, is light enough to take backpacking, and comfortably fits two people. It's also perfect if you need a spot to put gear off the ground in the rain or if you have lots of bugs crawling around your site that you don't want in your gear. Nice there's tons of colors to choose from as well.
Great Camping Item!

Although not totally necessary to have on a backpacking trip... This hammock is fairly light and compact. I bought the Khaki and black version. I take on all of my backpacking trips. It serves as a wonderful relaxation spot after a long day of hiking. I bought the atlas straps for the ease of hanging this up. Its a quality hammock but it should be taken care of. While climbing in VA we had them hanging up and his was touching a rock and it began to rip... I've even taken this thing as a shelter in winter camping. Just be sure to put plenty of insulation underneath of you or you'll freeze. This is a great, and VERY popular hammock that is quality built. Good job ENO! Would definitely recommend!!
Cuddling up in a cave!!?
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
I do not even own a tent! The hammock is lightweight, quick, and easy to put up.
-Chilling in a cave! Whaaa? This is the coolest place I have enjoyed ENO hammocks! We escaped from the storm and waited it out in our hammock which we attached to ROCKS (NOT TREES), saw a gorgeous double rainbow while staying warm next to each other.
-I have slept in this with tons of friends. I have found that sleeping with heads on opposite ends work the best for me. Also, you can use your friends feet as a pillow (unless their feet are stinky, ewh!), I only use their feet as a pillow when we are in our own sleeping bags.
-The tighter the hammock the more comfortable it tends to be. -Don't be afraid that it is going to fall! That is of course if you use para-cord and don't knot it good enough for two people. P-cord properly tied does work for two people too if you accidentally forget your straps.
Tech Specs: The compression sack works as a great place to store your phone and headlamp!
My backpacking/camping essential
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
The Eagles Nest hammock goes with me almost everywhere, and has become an absolute essential on all camping and backpacking trips. It's super comfortable, quick and easy to set up, and packs down very compact and light.
A great date night
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
Set this up overlooking the city one night to watch the sunset with a lady friend. Set up was super easy between two telephone poles with Atlas straps (it's more romantic than it seems) and hopping in is even easier.
Sitting with two people is pretty comfy, but you will definitely be right next to eachother. We jokingly tried to sit without touching each other, but it's not really possible. Definitely great for snuggling. Yes. I said snuggling.
Lying down lengthwise is comfortable as well, but more for napping than a full nights sleep.
Build construction is great. She legit jumped into the hammock and I was worried she would fall right through it, but it caught her just fine. The integrated stuff sack doubles as a nifty pocket to hold beverages and snacks or a speaker.
Do you hate naps?
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Hate cozy naps under a tree? Definitely don't buy this hammock then. It's perfect for a lazy afternoon at the camp site. Easy to set up, durable, and weighs almost nothing. If you hate relaxing, this thing is terrible. If you enjoy a little downtime, give it a whirl.
Great first hammock
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I've only used this once, and it was amazing. Great material, easy set up, and quick/lite pack.
Hammocks are so cool now ....
Everyone luvs the hammock, this one is portable and easy to set up. A must have for your collection of fun stuff. My son luvs it.
Great Purchase
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
Great purchase, easy to pack and bring anywhere. Leave it in the car, in a suitcase or back pack, it’s small and light. Super easy to set up with the slap straps, I was able to be in it in 5 minutes. The double is pretty big so when your solo you can wrap yourself totally up. It holds up well when just lounging or when the kids try to make it a pirate ship on rough waters.
My bed
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
This is one of my favorite purchases. I have taken it on a boat high on a rock wall and to 6 different countries and it has never failed me. this is my third one i've had cause i really use these things to their limits. they are pretty durable considering what they are made of and what I have put them through.
chill wherever
Wherever you are, if you have this hammock and two reasonably spaced solid objects in your vicinity, you can pretty much turn ANYWHERE into a chillzone. I've paired this hammock with Hammock Biss' Tree Straps and have been able to rig my hammock up with its included carabiners in a variety of situations (like on a boat.) Portable comfort!
Does this come with any bug protection? What I mean is if you have 2 people, is there any extra material that can you fold over the outer end of it to protect against bugs?
This hammock does not have any kind of bug net that comes with it. This Grand Trunk hammock, however, does have a built in net with it:

Does this come with straps?
Hey Mescymess,
This hammock does *not* come with straps. I recommend the ENO Slapstrap Pro (EGN0005)!
Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail if you have any other questions!

Yep! This are genuine ENO products.

When will you get more doublenest hammocks in?
Hey lin105412937,
We have a HUGE vendor order coming in. I expect to see inventory back on the site within the month.

Does this hammock sleep two well or is it just comfy for one person? Would like to sleep in this with my girlfriend but don't want us to have to sleep on top of each other.
The hammock would most likely be fine, but I can't imagine you'd be very comfortable
Hey Quinn,
Personally I think this works fine for two people but the girlfriend disagrees. I find stretching sideways rather than lengthwise works best so that the natural fold of the hammock doesn't role you on top of each other.
Though fine for midday cuddling, I do not enjoy sharing my hammock for any longer than the length of a nap. If you are looking to use the double as a nighttime home for you and your loved one, I would personally advise against it having tried this in the past. I would opt for two double nests, and hang yours above or below hers for overall comfort.

This or the Grand Trunk Double? They seem near identical.
Hey Timothy,
Both of those hammocks are very similar, and speaking from personal experience I suggest this hammock, but only because I have used ENO hammocks before. They are extremely durable, pack away easily and come in a bunch of sweet colorways!
If you are having a really hard time deciding, I suggest finding an outdoor retail store that carries them and checking them out in person before purchasing.
Hey Timothy,
I already answered this question for you on the Grand Trunk Double Parachute Hammock and just wanted to reiterate here that the Grand Trunk is a little longer and this ENO is a little wider. Besides that you shouldn't notice any differences. I also wanted to back Carver up in that I have this ENO hammock and have had plenty of good nights sleep hanging between trees in this product.
Whichever you decide to go with I think you would be happy with. This is one of the few times I will say there is no reason why you shouldn't go with the only you think looks better.
I definitely suggest ENO over Grand Trunk, Grand Trunks are cheaper than ENOs but seeing other people setting them up they don't seem nearly as easy and don't look nearly as comfortable, I vote ENO
My friend ripped his Grand Trunk. They also allow a lot of heat to escape through the fabric.

It's just open air.

the carabiners come with, but the straps are sold separately

Is there a no-see-um option for the double nest?
ENO does have a mosquito net that you can set up with the hammock. I'm not sure if Backcountry sells it though. They also have a DoubleNest that is treated with an odorless insect repellent.

Who makes a hammock tent that allows you to lay more supine, with legs and back in a more horizontal position?
Most of that is just a hammock, how much you let it sag. Look for a hammock that shows less curvature along the bottom while retaining a strait line along the top.
All lot of hammocks are designed to be laid in diagonally, which straightens out your spine and gives you the horizontal position you're looking for.

Other than size and weight, what the difference between this and the pro nest?
They are the same materials and construction, but the Doublenest is a much larger version. Also, the pronest comes with Aluminum carabiners instead of Steel. That is all.

Does this hammock come with rope to hang it with?
I see that you've asked this about all of the ENO hammocks, and the answer is that none of them do. From the FAQ page on the ENO site: "Your hammock will come with two 5/16'' carabiners on the ends that you can use to attach to whatever strapping or connecting device (ropes, webbing, ect.) for the objects you are using as your mounting points."
These carabiners are heavy, crappy steel.
My recommendation would be to get 20ft of 3/4" tubular nylon climbing webbing, as well as 2 C.A.M.P. nano 23 carabiners. This will give you an easy to set up and take down system that is fairly cheap, fairly light, and has a very low impact on the bark of the trees you wrap the webbing around. Webbing can be easily tied with an overhand on a bight.
ENO does make "slap straps" which work to quickly set up hammocks as well, but they are much more expensive and less versatile than making your own.

yeah i have the doublenest eno hammock how do it wash it
You can machine wash it. They do recommend using a mild detergent and that you just hang it up to dry. I always wash mine on delicate to by safe though too.
Straight from the source:
"Our hammocks are machine washable. We suggest you use a mild detergent and just hang it up to dry. Treat all other ENO products like you would a tent or similar camping gear-wash only when absolutely necessary and by hand."
found here: http://www.eaglesnestoutfittersinc.com/customerservice.html
I hand wash mine, fairly easy to clean.
Using Woolite detergent to hand wash or machine wash would probably be your best bet. It's a very gentle soap.
