Write your question here...Hi, How waterproof is this bag? Which of the other bags are waterproof? What fabrics should I be looking at for waterproof in the sling/messenger bag group? Thanks. Harriet
I am diabetic and find it nearly impossible to find a bag to carry my test kit, insulin etc where I can easily access it. Tlhis bag does a great job, mind you I am using the side pockets for this, but that makes the pens etc easy to reach without opening the main bag.
The shoulder strap is comfortable, leaves your hands free to access the pockets, does not have the problem of other shoulder bags where the strap is always slipping off and is very secure when travelling through crowds.
Looking forward to using it on the next trip which is why I bought it, but l have now combined a fanny pack and a backpack into this bag and it is a lot more efficient. Love Eagle Creek products and I am now using it daily instead of a purse.

I have used many shoulder bags since 1969. This is my second Eagle Creek product. It is superior to the first one, with a useful "office compartment", spacious central compartment , and several sizes of smaller pockets for a variety of oter items. It is almost as large as messenger bag but it's portrait design is one I find much more comfortable. I also agee with the previous review that i wish the shoulder pad was less prone to slippage.
Assume you are talking about the shoulder strap. I wear it over my head with the padding going from just in front of my neck to just behind, in other words it cushions the neck, but this also leaves your hands free. Don't use it as a conventional shoulder bag, it is far more flexible as an over the head bag and more secure when travelling through crowds. The rest of the bag sits on my hip. Hope this helps.
I bought this bag looking for an ergonomic solution for the growing collection of electronic gadgets I like to have at hand (e.g. pocket camera, GPS, cell phone, ipod, flashlight, Kindle etc.). It has lots of sensible pockets and is probably as comfortable as is possible considering the weight I am trying to conveniently lug around. A downside is that it is so big and utilitarian it stands out like a sore thumb with dress clothes. I have been using it for and every day bag for the past couple of months, but am probably going to consign it to a travel shelf, and learn not to lug so much stuff around with me.
Linda, You will be able to wear it across your body. However, it won't be at waist level. There does not appear to be room for a water bottle outside the bag.
