    Perfect Travel Companion

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My brother's review on this pack:

This pack is the perfect travel companion. I’ve used it on several trips. It’s small enough to use as a carry on during any flight. It’s compartmentalized enough to organize everything for a trip. I’ve packed all my clothes and toiletries along with all my son’s clothes and toiletries, diapers, wipes, first aid kit, snacks and a tablet without any issues. My wife used it on a 10 day trip to Europe and was able to pack all her clothes, toiletries, a DSLR camera, snacks and surprisingly had quite a bit of room to spare. Since it’s the smaller version of this pack, it was still quite comfortable despite not having a frame. We used it as our climbing bag in Greece during a 9 pitch climb with a long approach and an even longer descent. I stored all the gear inside with an 80 meter rope on the outside which was secured with the side straps. It worked quite well for this too. I’d recommend this pack for any sort of travelling and would even use it backpacking if I could keep it under 20 lb (due to the lack of a frame).

    Great bag, accept for that.....

.... and by "that" I mean how the shoulder straps for the backpack attach to the bag itself. In order to make the shoulder straps removable at the top of the bag to convert it into a duffel they have strap loops that are about 1/4" wide and are sewn into the main seam. The should straps have a Velcro flap end that goes through said strap loops and Velcros back onto itself. Not a bad idea... if they were to use a beefier strap and reinforce its connection to the bag better. The first time I put this on my back (completely empty) the little strap on the right side pulled right out of the seam. Maybe I just got a defect, but my inspection of the other side would guess at a short lifespan. Other than that, it is a great bag that is on a truck to Backcounty HQ.

    Great size, great backpack!

I own this in red. I traveled around Europe for 3 weeks just carrying this backpack with me. At first time I thought it was so small, but then I started putting stuff inside it and was astonished that I could put everything I need and still have some space left. I also bought 2 Pack It half cube http://www.backcountry.com/eagle-creek-pack-it-half-cube fully recommend to use together with the backpack, it has space for 5 of them.

I used the backpack front straps to hang my watter bottle and the side ones to hold my travel pillow.

Also this pack has the perfect size to flight with airlines like EasyJet that have size restrictions, you can pass this backpack as cabin baggage without problems .

Fully recommend if you like to travel light!

    Great size, great backpack!
