Eagle Creek took their award-winning Switchback Max ES 22 Pack and made it even better. This convertible carry-on luggage features upgraded suspension and increased capacity. The Switchback Max travels easily using its ORV wheels and Touch Point Radius handle, and zip-away backpack straps let you carry the pack over obstacle-ridden terrain. The redesigned shoulder straps and hip-belt distribute weight evenly for comfort on long treks. For shorter day excursions, the front of the Switchback zips off to become a full-sized daypack with organizer pockets. Eagle Creek increased this portion's capacity by 400 cubic inches for more carry-on potential. The Switchback Max integrates with Eagle Creek's Pack-It System for efficient, organized packing and unpacking.

completely worth it. easy to roll around. sturdy. good for carry on. i took this with me for a 1 week trip and was fine.

I purchased this system primarily for a 3 week tour of Italy. It allowed me to fly without checked baggage. The main bag is great with lots of room, but no compartments. The day-pack was great for the many day trips in Rome, Tuscany, Pompei, and Cinque Terre. However, the top handle (cloth) of the day-pack pulled out of its stitching after 2 days of use. I haven't contacted anyone about repair or replacement (lifetime warranty?). Overall, I'm glad I purchased this system. I use it quite often for business trips in the states.
