Love this suitcase. Used it as my carry on when I traveling back to Vietnam. I thought I'd invest in something that would last me for the next ten years. Eaglecreek really does make high quality products. You can tell they put a lot of details when the put together the handle, wheels, zippers, etc. I'm also, thinking about also getting the larger pieces for my check-in luggage and they will definitely by Eaglecreek. Plus, there's a life time warranty on it. Gotta love that. I also bought the pack-it system. Really looking forward to using this for all my future travels.
Great Travel Carryon
I got this bag mainly for vacation travel. This bag is great, I don't use build in shoe bag at all. I used this bag for 2 weeks in Italy. I can fit at least 2 fully packed mid size packing cubes towards the end of the bag and 2 smaller cubes, I also used Eagle creek folder for the dresses and put that on top. The bottom outside pocket could give you problem with overhead bin if you fit too much (like I do), so I only use it when I am on land to lighten the main compartment. I like the compression straps and use it when I have to check in the bag because of luggage weight restriction. I would take out 2 days worth of cloth and necessities with me to take on the plane and use the compression straps to compress it as much as possible. The wheels are every sturdy and it's amazing how much I can fit into this bag! The curved top zip takes away some of the spaces you could have, but that's the way the shape gives you.
Firstly, Backcountry.com is beyond good! I had mistakenly ordered a bag without shoulder straps and they were so friendly and happy to make the exchange with no shipping cost either way, that I am now a huge fan.
This bag is the best. Never being one for rollaways, since I dont spend that much time on level ground, I've shied away. But now with the excess bag fees on airlines, I jumped in. This little ORV is perfect! For such a sturdy bag it is really light weight, yet seems so well built, I am predicting a long life. The size is perfect, and it is just soft enough to accept whatever I want to squeeze in, yet still worm its way into the overhead bins.
My one tiny comment is that I dont really see the need for the compression straps, and they add another step to getting in and out of the bag, but then, hey, you can always just cut them off if you decide you never want to use them.
All in all, I totally recommend this one, looks stylish, easy to pick up and down with the comfy handles, rolls extremely well. Add the great customer support from backcountry.com, and you cant go wrong.
Eagle Creek ORV trunks
I really love this bag! I already had the larger one, which is fantastic, but wanted to add the smaller one too for a carry on. The 22" was almost big enough to be my only bag for a recent 10 day trip and would have been if I was a little less high maintenance :~). It's relatively narrow shape makes it easy to wheel down the aisle of an airplane and it fits nicely into the overhead compartment. It's very sturdy, with a smooth zipper and holds more than you would imagine. The 22" straps firmly on top of the larger bag for ease in getting through airports. The wheels are smooth and well balanced. Being as light weight as it is, you can take more "stuff" and still be under the airlines weight limits. Last but not least, I think it looks great too! On the downside, it's expensive, but I've had lesser bags before that were heavy before filling and just didn't perform the way that the ORV trunks do, so, for me -- it's worth it.
