Eagle Creek designed the Explorer LT Travel Pack for adventure off the beaten path. This easy-access front-panel loading pack sports Eagle Creek's 3-in-1 Travel Shell that works as a seam-sealed rain fly, a security cover, and a packable duffel. The Explorer has zip-away water bottle pockets and a water bladder sleeve to keep you hydrated during long days on the trail. Eagle Creek added a number of extra amenities to the Explorer like a scratch-resistant fleece lined pocket for sunglasses or a camera, a detachable daypack, and a unique Cargo Net packing aid inside the main compartment.

Bottom Line: Take the road less traveled with the Eagle Creek Explorer LT Travel Pack.

I climbed Pike's Peak with this pack. Two bungee cords helped add a sleeping bag and tent just fine as I cruised all around the mountain. The two bags that snap together to form one is a great idea and makes travel easy. I say this bag rocks.

How much of the pack does the 'travel shell' cover exactly?

How much of the pack does the 'travel shell' cover exactly? I plan on using this as a carry on, but in the event I would have to check the pack, I don't want to have to worry about the straps getting caught on a conveyor belt or the like -- will it fully cover the straps and prevent them from getting snagged?

Great pack!

By:

I've had this pack for over a year, now, with no problems. It's small, sturdy and convenient. I've used it for 2mo in Europe, as well a shorter stints in Central America and the U.S. The only time I've had to check the main pack was due to a budget airline with ultralight weight restrictions; otherwise, it's carry-on all the way.

It does have locking zippers. So airport baggage handlers will be able cut your locks off.

Needs Better Ventilation

By:
November 26, 2007

This bag accompanied me on 7 day tour of Europe. I was able to carry on the complete pack on all flights, and pack all of my gear easily. My only complaint is the lack on ventilation whenever I carried either part of the system which caused my back to sweat heavily. Other than the ventilation issue it's a solid system.

Great Bag

First hiking bag I've purchased, and I must say that I'm pleased with the item. Spent a week in Europe with me this year, and now that I'm familiar with what I can hold in it, I'm sure next years trip will be longer:)
