Planning an extended vacation? You have a carry-on. Let the Eagle Creek ES Cargo Duffel Bags take care of the rest. Ranging in size from considerable to monstrous, these duffels with locking zippers provide an easy way to pack damn near everything. Eagle Creek made the Cargo bags from a tough but pliable blend of ripstop and cordura, so they'll see your stuff through trip after trip. Hypolon carry handles and super durable three-inch webbing lets you carry the luggage in-hand, and a removable, adjustable padded shoulder strap allows over-the-shoulder transport. Stuff pouches store the duffel when not in use and they're a great place for shoes and dirty items while you're on the road. Top external compression straps help stabilize the load—especially useful if you're using the XL size. The small size can slip onto the handles of Eagle Creek uprights, or you can carry it on board.
Bottom Line: Pack some serious stuff in the Eagle Creek ES Cargo Duffel Bags.
This is my 6th Eagle Creek Duffle bag, I have them in all sizes. I can travel with this bag without worrying that the zipper will pop or open due to over stuffing. The handles are designed so that I can access from side to side, they are strong wrapped all the way around. It easily folds into a very small size when I need to pack it into my hand carry bag. It is well worth it's price for the quality of the product.
As a firefighter I live out of this bag 1/3 of my life. I take it to and from work full time. I also use it when I travel. It is more than a go to bag for me it is literally part of my daily life. The material is sturdy and holds up great. It also seems to resist water pretty good. I have had it in rain storms in the back of my pick up truck and it is by no means water proof. The contents do however seem to always survive. This bag is more than enough for the casual user.....thats all I can really say. I have had mine for around 4 years and if it ever wears out which it probably won't I will by another one. All Eagle creek stuff from my experience is top notch.
it is water resistant in that it is made of cordura nylon. but the zippers are neither water resistant nor waterproof...so a trip from the car to the house will probably be ok, but not so much sitting out in a downpour.

I bought the Large Duffel before I went to college, and haven't regretted paying for it yet. It's durable, feels good in the hand, and has plenty of storage. I used it to cram in all of my clothes for college, and use it to bring dirty clothes back home. I feel no remorse throwing the bag around and letting it slide around in my truck bed on the highway, it can take it. Not to mention, even if the bag gets damaged, thanks to Eagle Creek's amazing warranty, i could shoot it with a shotgun, send it in, and get it repaired or replaced. Also comes with the carrying bag that it can stuff into quite easily and can be used to store shoes or other items in while traveling. The only downside to this bag, is that the zippers are coil style instead of chain style, which are technically less strong, but because of the warranty, it is not really an issue.
The tag says "100% Cordura." The duffel fits easily back into the "stuff pouch," which is not a part of the duffel, but made of the same material. As noted in other reviews, covered by Eagle Creek's "No Matter What" lifetime guarantee.
No. The Large I have is much bigger than an allowed carry-on when packed full, so the XL would be much much too big. The Medium would be about right, I think, for a carry-on.
I picked up this duffel with a good discount, and I felt I got a decent deal at that rate. It's adequate for 2-3 days of travel for a guy like me who can go 3 days on two pairs of pants, 3 shirts, and the rest of the necessary accouterments. the construction is very durable and well done, as expected from an Eagle Creek product. The color and styling are good enough to pass muster with about any age level.
I ordered this duffel bag and used it for the first time on a trip out of Mexico. My honest opinion? I LOVE this bag! It is small enough to met any airline and tour bus requirements and yet you can put tons of stuff in it. I have searched high and low for the perfect carry-on, and this is it. The duffel also has a handy back strap which allows one to put it over the handle of wheeled luggage.
Initially pulling this bag out of its package I thought it was going to be too small for our needs. However, we filled it comfortably with enough stuff for my wife and I to go to Portland for 5 days; this included our rain gear, running cloths and professional and casual gear. It was the perfect size. It also just happen to weigh in at 48.5 pounds. We probably had 20% capacity left but the draw straps help everything tight. Good quality materials and the seems look great! Perfect luggage bag for extended trips.
Bought the XL Size.... Good bag for my 4,400 CU back pack fully packed for a 4 day trip, plus some room. Very durable zipper and snaps. Withstood my first trip through 4 airports. Eagle Creek is a quality name. I would recommend it to my buddies. L8R
Use it as my regular daily workout bag. Like the lightness and the side pockets. Sewed up the bottom of the side panel so I could use it as an extra pocket along with the other pocket that has the zipper on it. Am making good use of it.
