Mother Nature took an epic dump last night while you were passed out in your gear-closet. The Dynastar Legend Big Dump Ski doesn’t care why you stumbled in and spooned it and your boots last night—this plank just wants to get out there and ride. And so do you.

  • Fat dimensions and a slight rocker in tip for pow-float and crud-charging
  • Titanal alloy blend and a fiber-wrapped core for stability and torsional stiffness
  • Racing base for quick acceleration
  • Requires brake width of 120-135mm

Bottom Line: Out of the gear closet and into the big dump.

Awesome Ski

I bought this ski in December to become my deep day ski, (I have a pair of Armada ANTs and Dynastar XXL's for everyday). My first day on them I was wiped out, these skis are very heavy, and I wasnt too sure about them. But I got my ass into shape I fell in love. After my first big storm cycle with these skis I havent skied my others skis since. They ski like a softer XXL, but keep the same stability some how. They are a ton of fun on hard pack, (as long as you're not trying to turn to much), they blast through chop and float in any depth of snow. I feel very confident that I'm not going to get bucked around on a nasty run out after a big Drop. And what I really like about them in they seem to absorb every bump in the road like a luxury SUV.I feel very confident that I'm not going to get bucked around on a nasty run out after a big drop. I think Dynastar has figured out you dont need a fully rockered ski to float in the deep stuff, just a little early rise will get the job done. That being said, these are a HEAVY, they DON'T like to make short turns, and these are NOT a jib ski. If you really like skis like the Hellbents, JJ's or S7's look elsewhere. If you love your XXL, but just want a little more float. These are the skis for you.

Curious where you mounted these? Did you just go with the recommended point or back a bit? Thanks.

Chris had a great technical answer. The rocker is still mild compared to other skis on the market. It's still significant and gets the job done. The rise is only towards the tip of the ski and the rest of the ski is similar to the the legend pro but wider. It is a fun ski if you're looking to go fast!

The early rise is only moderate, and the tip height is quite low, their total length is actually the same as the older 194 Legend Pro while the contact point is 2-4 inches back from where it is on the standard Legend pro. The deviation of 2-4 inches is because the contact point moves back when the ski is decambered.

Take them for a ride, they will return the favor!!

Here is my take:
1) Mount them at least 1" forward of Boot mark- balances a serious ski espicially if you put the right biding on it (PX18 XXL). I wish I went 2 Inches forward.

2) If you want to go fast, they will take you there faster that Ricky Bobby.

3) Trees- Hope you ski bumps well because your going to needt to force it when its not a pow day.

4) Bowls- First one down every time any condition

5) Bumps- Will ski a zipper line, suprizingly not that bad either.

Go fast, and ski them where you want, only down fall, Its race stock for sure, so they are heavy. But will handle all the speed you can take!!!

Love these things!

Nice to see some reverse camber from Dynastar

Usually I am a Prorider and XXL addict. Got to use a pair of the Dumps on a cat trip last winter in boot-top to thigh deep snow. They ride smooth and fast, extremely stable. Dynastar nailed the shape and dimensions. The tip rides just above the surface, and when you lay them over for a big arcing powder turn they do exactly what you want. Great platform for landings. I am 6'7" and 210 lbs, so I wish they had gone with a stiffer tip - once in a while when plowing through crud or deeper heavier snow the tip would flex backwards too much killing your flow, that was my only complaint. When I loaned them to a lighter guy, he loved them unconditionally. Great ski, but here's hoping they come out with a stiffer (possibly lighter) version next year.

They put an early rise on the new XXL, the '10-11 Pro Rider 115. I think they did they same with the new Big Dump as well, plus trimmed some weight down as well.
