The Dynastar Legend 8000 Alpine Ski and PX 12 Binding combine for a burly all-mountain package that takes you from powder to bumps to corduroy. The Legend 8000 Ski follows the Dynastar tradition of strength and performance. A wood core and Titanal sandwich construction give the Legend 8000 durable strength and power to rip through crud and power through long turns on the corduroy. The PX12 Binding's Full Drive toe piece transmits energy directly to your ski and has a multi-directional release to protect your knee and ankle joints if you take a digger.

I am considering this pkg for my twin boys...they are 6'2"
I am considering this pkg for my twin boys...they are 6'2" and weigh 190 at 15 years of age. Race trained, they rip east coast hard pack on GS race skis but need a new pair for powder days, tree skiing and park riding. comparing to Dynastar Big Trouble or K2 Coomba but like the price on this pkg deal allot. Any thoughts?

Do it. Far better than either of your other choices. Danced these puppies all over the place in Montana last year, and up to this point I'd still been on GS race stock for out east.

This ski does it all. If you are looking for a ski that has moderate width for powder, great carving ability, and terrific Maneuverability for quick turns and bumps, this ski should be at one of the top slots of your list. For some this could be a quiver of one for all mountain conditions all the time; for others this ski would fit very well in a quiver with a powder specific ski for those really deep days if you ski/live out west. As said above, all mountain all day long. This ski will take you anywhere on the mountain.

The "fluid" version has the integrated binding system. If you get the "flat" or non-fluid, unmounted it would be a better choice.

No it comes with the binding. However they do not come mounted so you could put some AT bindings on if you wanted.

I have the Legend 8000 model from a couple seasons ago. Am a fairly petite lady, but an expert skier, and the 158s def worked out. But sometimes they require me to exert a bit more muscle than I prob would need to otherwise on a different ski (I imagine due to the degree of stiffness).
What I LOVE most tho is how I feel on these babies rippin on bumps.

These skis are amazing in the bumps... I have never skied anything better on moguls. They are great through heavy crud, and pretty good floatation in up to 18" of fresh powder so far. The only thing to complain about is they aren't great for carving on goomers, otherwise they are superb!

They are basically the same ski, except the Mythic Rider is a slightly wider ski. The Mythic Rider used to be called the 8800, which gives you a slightly better idea of how closely related the skis are. The Mythic Rider will provide slightly better performance in deeper snow as well as when blasting through crud.

The legend 8000 has a waist width of 80 cm. The Legend Pro Rider has a waist width of 100 cm, so there is a big difference between the two. The pro will have a superior float in deep powder, however it is stiff unlike the 8000. So, the 8000 is much better for quick turns, fast maneuverability, and bumps.

The "Fluid" version uses the integrated PX12 Fluid binding, and can't really use other bindings (at least not without some kind of modification.)That said, this is a pretty kickass binding setup. I have a pair of Dynastar Contacts that use the same setup, and it works great. It's easily adjustable without remounting for a fairly wide range of boot sizes, too -- kind of like a rental binding that doesn't suck.
