Super light, super easy to use!
Super light, super easy to use! I've put the 130mm wide brake on my Rossi Super 7's (116mm underfoot) and have been happy with the bindings so far. It's my first venture into an AT setup, but used in conjunction with the Dynafit Titan Ultralight boots, I've had no problems powering my skis.
Absolutely love the new quickstep system as well!

Love the radical ft, just hate having to rotate heel with the brake the way it is set up: having to compress it flat to rotate to climb mode in heel.
Can I remove the brakes I in lieu of straps? Removed the screws thinking they were integrated but no go.
If you have this years Radicals the brakes cannot be removed with the heel piece mounted. If they are older there is a horshoe shaped cotter pin (not sure that is what it is called) that keeps the brakes attached.

I am so excited to use these binding more this season. I have taken them out a few times and they are just what I imagined. Super light and the heel adjustments are easy to change with your pole. I put the 110mm on a 96mm ski (hoping to get wider skis in the future;) and they work fine...the brakes move in and hug the ski when it is on. Very pleased with Dynafits so far!

I'd go 130 and deal with the 11mm of overhang since it won't be a huge issue unless you are railing on groomers and getting these way over.

Trying to decide between the FT's and the ST's and looking for some input on here. They will be going on some new Rossignol Squad 7's . They will be strictly touring/backcountry or deep resort day skis. What are the pro's/con's to both? Much appreciated.
The upside of the FT is you get that stiffening plate between the toe and heel with the lockout (which according to Lou Dawson at Wild Snow, doesn't really do anything) and you get a release value of 12 instead of 10. If you are a bigger or more aggressive skier you may want that extra 2 units of release value. The downside is you are paying an extra $100 and carrying an extra 68g per foot on the uptrack.

What's up AJ - I'd go with the 110mm brake. The shop that mounts your bindings will give the brake arm a little bend if necessary. Pretty common practice. The 130mm brake will hang off the edge of your ski and, if it gets bent or damaged, can drag or catch. Hope this helps! Great binding by the way. Been on mine for two years. Pretty much replaced my season pass.
Agreed. Go with the 110. I have this exact setup. If you go with the 130, the brake will over hang the ski and you will snag it on each other.

But decided I wanted to drop weight and went to a Speed Radical. Same hole pattern.

I'm a big guy...6'2", 250 lbs and size 13 feet. I like to jump while touring. Nothing major, six feet at the max. I'm wondering if anyone this big has road these bindings hard and if they have had any issues? I'd be mounting them on the Voile V8.
Yes, but notthe best choice in bindings. More for a finesse skier. If you are a smooth and a soft landing skier they will work. But not the best idea IMO. Nice think is you cna lock the toes at your build and still have them release when required....or not release depending on what you want. Ski them hard enough and something will break..you or the binding. May be both.

You are going to want to go with the 130 mm break here. It's kinda wide but you are not going to be able to bend those 110's wide enough to fit those JJ's.

We most likely won't see any additional inventory on this product until the 2013-2014 version is released in the fall. Sorry about the bad news there! Dynafit may actually have a 110mm brake available for purchase from their website, so you could potentially swap the brakes to accommodate a narrower ski. We unfortunately don't have any brakes for sale at this time, but Dynafit or a local shop may have them available for you.
Hi Lexi, So what happened to the order that was due in around the 20th of June? Was that cancelled? (guys on chat online told me they were coming in about the 20th?)
Sorry, took me ages to come across your question here. I double checked on this, and since I answered Jay in early June, we DID put an order in with Dynafit,and we do have a ton coming in sometime in August. However, this is the 2014 inventory and it won't be discounted, unfortunately. I'm so sorry about the bad news there, I know its awesome to score a deal on last season's stuff, but the inventory coming in is fresh for the 2013-2014 season.

Best backcountry binding
If your serious about backcountry skiing, this is you binding. Lightweight, durable and VERY easy to use. I like this over the Vertical due to the lifter system. Going steeper? A quick flip of the heal piece, and you are set. I dont have to fumble with sticking my pole in and twisting. I love not having to clip out of these to switch from skin to ski mode. Get them!
Has anybody used these as a combination...
Has anybody used these as a combination resort/touring set up? I raced until I was 18 but have since switched to freeriding. This year I had about a 50-50 split of backcountry and resort days, and that seemed like a ratio that I'll try to maintain in the coming seasons. My touring/resort set up this year was the influence 105s with the Marker Barons cranked to the highest DIN setting (12), and I loved everything about it except for the weight. I have been thinking about replacing the Barons with some Radicals (still on influence 105s), but was wondering how they would hold up in resort. If I made the switch I would ski them in every condition (pow, crud, frozen chunder, bumps, groomers) with an aggressive skiing style. Would these be up to the challenge?
If you crank this DIN up, I honestly dont see it being an issue. I rode them all season, cliff drops etc and never pre-released.
I do know they are coming out with a new, beefier freeride model though. Google it!

Is it possible to rotate the heel piece from tour to ski mode using just a ski pole? I can do this on my Dynafit Verticals but it looks like I have to bend down to rotate the heel piece with the Radicals.
Unlike the Verticals, the Radical assumes you'll bend down and twist. I don't find this to be much of an issue, but it is different. (Also different from the Verticals, the heel lifter is engaged not by rotating the heel piece, but by flipping the lifter forward. That is easy to do with a ski pole.)
