Stylish, technical and functional!
- Size Bought: Medium
Wow! What a sick jacket! I originally bought this jacket as a piece to layer with at the resort or when I am touring. First off, this jacket performs exceptionally when skiing. It's packable , so light (as light as my iPhone6) and warm. The bonus though is that it's become my go to around town piece. This jacket is so stylish that I can literally wear it from the slopes to a restaurant in town (albeit I live in Boulder, CO.) But, I have gotten so many compliments on this jacket that I definitely recommend it for anything!
Fit: European, tailored fit. Purchased size medium.
My build: Lean, athletic, 5'9, 160 lbs.
Would this jacket be suitable for hiking? How does it compare with the Patagonia Nano puff jacket?
Hi Gregory, this jacket would be fine for hiking. It is a versatile layering insulation jacket. The face fabric is Pertex Quantum with a DWR treatment so gives some wind protection and good water resistance. Additionally, it uses Primaloft Gold Luxe which is blown in Primaloft clusters that give more of a feel of a down jacket. This has Primaloft's best warmth to weight ratio.
The weight compared to the two jackets is very similar with the TLT being ~10 grams lighter. Based on Primaloft Luxe versus Primaloft One, I think the TLT should be a little warmer, but I can't speak first hand. Also, the TLT has a more athletic fit, closer to the body than nano puff
