An insulated jacket you can wear on the skin track.

Like all Dynafit products, the Men's Radical Primaloft Hooded Jacket is designed to help you move through the mountains fast. Insulated with PrimaLoft Silver insulation for increased breathability, as well as an excellent weight-to-warmth ratio, the Radical provides lightweight warmth that won't interfere when your heart rate is up. The Pertex Quantum fabric protects from wind while maintaining a high level of breathability. Ponterto Technostretch underarm panels increase the flexibility of the jacket to maximize your glide on the skin track while also providing increased breathability where you need it most. Two zippered hand-warmer pockets give you somewhere you warm your digits when you reach a windy ridgeline, and the internal stow pocket allows you stash this jacket in your touring backpack for quick access when you need an extra layer on those days with unpredictable weather.

    My go to Insulation

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

For 2 seasons the radical jacket is my go to, every day insulation piece. This jacket is extremely comfortable and adds just the right amount of insulation. It is perfect for chilly morning starts or an added layer on cold days. I have worn this jacket during countless dawn patrols and many days as an added layer under a shell. After 2 seasons and several hundred days of wear, I continue to wear the radical just about every day.

    Always Got it with Me

I consider this essential gear for backcountry skiing. Besides the obvious, necessary warmth on summits and transitions, this jacket is awesome for those freezing morning starts. I can wear it while skinning away from the trailhead or hut, allowing me to warm up, but not overheat (because of the breathable fabric under the arms). I've been using this jacket for a couple years and it has held up perfectly.

    Perfect Mountain Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Love wearing this jacket at all points of my ski day. Whether headed up the skin track, slashing turns on my way down or headed to the bar for some apres beers, this jacket kills it for me. Great fit! I am 6'4 and pretty lanky, but an XL fits me perfectly in the arms and all. Great breathability too!

    Solid do everything jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I have been wearing this jacket all winter and it has become my go to. I wear it to work everyday, out in the evening, and as a midlayer out on the mountain on cold days.

The fit is true to size. I previously wore and Arcteryx Atom LT. The fit is slightly more athletic than that and by no means tight. I am 6ft and 190lbs and wear a large. I also found the insulation to be a lot more durable than my Atom LT.

There is a DWR on the face fabric making water resistant. The fleece lined pockets are pretty awesome. Highly recommend this guy.

I found it to be. I own an Atom LT from the first year they made it. I wore the jacket almost everyday and definitely put it through the ringer as a midlayer, belay jacket and around town. The Coreloft did not hold up though. The jacket started out way warmer in the first few months than it was after some use.

The Radical jacket uses primaloft which has a pretty good history of durability and warmth to weight. From my experience, I would say the Radical is a bit warmer and holds its warmth more consistently after a season or two of use.
