The glue on all new Dynafit skins has been re-formulated for the 12/13 season. This was done specifically at the request of the North American market so that they stick much better in our colder drier snow conditions. 70/30 Mohair/Nylon mix has fantastic glide and enough grip for all but the testosterone-fueled skin tracks.

Really like the tip connection - makes it easy to take off without removing the ski.
Great skins

Both my wife and I have used these skins extensively for 18 months and they are the best skins we've used...they are light, easy to use, fit perfectly, climb well, and seem very durable so far. The rubber front attachment looks like it could break but seems durable in practice.
Better in some conditions than others

These skins glide great, are very light, and are very easy to put on and take off, especially with matched dynafit skis. However, I found the glue did not hold up well in colder temperatures, and the traction could be sub par, especially on warmer, heavier snow. Here in the Sierra Nevada, I think pure nylon systems work better (ie BD Ascentions)
Quick & easy

These were quick & easy to get on and off my skis. Easier than the Black Diamond or G3 skins I've used in the past. Kinda pricy though. One slight concern was that I noticed the tip connector can become separated from the skin itself. I noticed it lying near my skin bag on my basement floor. Be careful to ensure you keep the tip connectors safe.

Will these skins work on 178cm DPS Wailers with dimensions: 131/105/118? If not, what skin do you recommend?

These skins are built and cut for the Manaslu ski and won't work other skis. They also have a different tip attachment that won't work with other skis either.

So far I have been happy with these new skins. I bought them for my Dynafit Manaslu 178cm skis. They fit incredibly well and the tip and tail attachments work well.
I found the grip good and had only minimal slippage (2-3x while on steep sections) skinning 2700' on a packed powder surface.
The glide seemed fine, but the terrain I have used them on so far was almost exclusively climbing and did not have a lot of gliding. They are lighter than my previous skins (BD ascension) and the adhesive worked very well.
One comment- be sure to peel the attached backing in a warm area. I forgot to do this until I got to the trail and the backing ripped and was hard to remove at 20 degrees!

Echo the comment on removing the backing in a warm area! Wish I'd read your comment prior to heading out. I spent 15 mins and needed the help of a friend to peel off the shredded backing in cold temperatures!

Wondering if the tri-layer vapor barrier works as advertised? Are the skins staying dry? Anyone still using glop stopper with this skin?

Are there non ski specific skins from Dynafit or only models that work with their skis and attachments?

Best to use the Dynafit specific skins!
But you can retrofit to make other brands of skins to fit....

Dynafit skins are manufactured by Pomoca (same company makes the skins for K2). For the 12/13 season Pomoca skins will be available in North America at Backcountry.com and some local retailers.

I love how these skins perform with the Manaslu Ski. The rubber tip makes it very easy to put on and take off. The glide and grip very well. 2nd year with these skins and my favorite so far.

Hi. I have Dynafit ST 3.0 AT Skis 160 cm long. Sidecut dimensions: 109/74/96 mm.
I´m having trouble finding skins that fit my skis. I would prefer dynafit skins. Do you have any skins that would fit my skis. If not, do you now where I can buy them?

These combo mohair/synthetic skins grip well and glide well.
I thought the tip attachment would have been finicky but I found it easy and smooth. I have always loved grabbing my tips to pull skins off, its easier than trying to grab your tails.
And not having to trim my skins. Easy

I must have owned and used a dozen pairs of climbing skins by now over the years -- but all from Black Diamond. I was a little nervous about using another brand. But with almost 100,000 vertical on these, I am happy to report that my fears were unfounded:
-- Glide is excellent, much better than Ascension nylon.
-- Grip has been fine, no problems.
-- In temps ranging from around 0F to around 40F, with multiple laps, no glue problems at all.
Caveats:
-- As you can from the temp range, these were used in midwinter snow only, so I don't know about grip on firm corn or glue performance in room temperature spring glop.
-- When new, many loose threads appear. This is probably annoying only to someone like me. But after snipping off a few after each outing with nail clippers, they stopped appearing anyway.
(Attached pic: the skins got me up to the top of this, and now the Manaslu skis will get me to the bottom!)

These skins are specifically cut for the Manaslu ski. You could buy these and cut them to fit the FT10, but Dynafit makes speedskins pre-cut for the FT10 as well.

I'm a little concerned about how well the rubber tail attachment will hold up over time. It seems prone to dry rot or breakage. What's your take on how reliable the tip and tail attachments will be over time? Also, I've read some reviews on other sites that raise concerns about the glue quality on these skins. Any subjective sense of how well these skins will stick and stay stuck?
rchardwick2195729

I've used Pomoca and Montana skins with rubber tip attachments for years without dry rot, etc. That said, the rubber tip attachment on my Speedskin broke while skinning yesterday. The failure occured at the metal rod hole. The air temp was warm; there was no rock or other damage to the rubber, and this is their 1st season. A ski strap could be rigged to hold the skin, but one might want to carry a spare part.

How do these attach at the tip, from the pic there seems to be some "key" type to pull them on, If this is lost, anyway to replace?
Cory Guru

It is a tongue and grove system...It is not a key, but that is the piece is used to secure the skins; The "tongue" in a sense. If lost replacements are available through Dynafit.
