It's Dynafit's critical attention to detail that puts them ahead of the competition, and the Dhaulagiri Ski is certainly no exception. Dynafit set out to make an incredibly versatile, one-ski quiver that's still light enough for backcountry tourers to really get after it regardless of the conditions. Like a monocle-wearing watchmaker, Dynafit shaped the Dhaulagiri with dimensions down to the hundredth decimal to assure optimal performance, and the ski has a unique dual sidecut radius (as opposed to the standard single radius) that extends the ski's versatility for turning tightly through trees or widening those turns down big, open terrain.


As a modern ski, the Dhaulagiri sports the ever-popular rocker tip and tail with camber underfoot to ride soft or firm snow with equal prowess. The tip also features Dynafit's 3D Flex tip to soften impacts, quicken rebounds, and offer an overall smoother ride. You'd expect a ski as light as this (three pounds per ski) to have a cap construction, but Dynafit surprised everyone with full sidewalls that ease repairs for long-lasting durability. The Dhaulagiri Ski stays light due to its paulownia wood core, but Dynafit added some poppy poplar in the mix to ensure playful performance. Like any backcountry ski worth touring on, this stick boasts two carbon laminates to assure stiff rigidity for the downhill.
