Partnering with Helle Rambouillet Ranch in Southwestern Montana, Duckworth uses the finest US-sourced merino wool in all of its garments. Keeping you cozy-warm through winter's barrage of brisk conditions and icy temperatures, the Duckworth Women's Powder High Neck Top is a toasty pullover sweater made with Dura-Fleece for an ideal combination of insulating properties and moisture-wicking performance. Its midweight (250 g/m²) merino-blend works great as a standalone piece during cool conditions, also efficiently layering under waterproof/breathable jackets when you're hiking, skiing, and getting after it during the wintertime.

Its soft, brushed-lined interior keeps you delightfully comfortable by pulling perspiration off your skin to prevent your upper body from feeling cold and clammy during active use. Additionally, the extra-high neck protects your lower face and chin from blasts of frigid air. Add in a kangaroo pouch pocket for a cozy refuge for frozen fingers and hands. And since it's entirely made in the USA, you can proudly wear this garment knowing it wasn't made in an overseas sweatshop.

Warmest thing ever (but odd shape)

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Small

This is the warmest, coziest, non-itchiest top I have ever worn (in 50 years). After I run on a winter morning, I usually can't warm up (even with a hot shower); this has solved the problem. It's like a giant warm hug, a hot bath, putting the heat up to 80, etc. The fleece inside is so soft, and the front hand pocket is awesome for quickly warming up cold hands or for stashing something. Re: the fit, I did size down (athletic build, usually a medium in tops) to a small. The sleeves, torso length, waist are perfect. The only weird part (mentioned by others) is the boxy, voluminous chest area. I am small-chested but broad shouldered, and still totally lost in that area in this shirt. It just bunches up between my midsection and neck, especially when sitting. I think if I got true to size, the top would be more tunic-like (like the model photos on Duckworth's site) and boxy all-over - may be an option for some (or for me if I get another). Plan to keep and wear this one in the house and yard, though. The comfort is too good to pass up.

    Gorgeous but Long

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

This is a well made sweater that I recommend snagging if it fits you. It'll probably become your favorite comfy warm thing to throw on in the winter when it's cold. The grey color is a cool bluish tone I wish I saw more often but rarely do, the design is simple and thus can stand the test of time, and the fleecy interior is a delight. I feel like a cat wanting to knead blankets when I touch it.

I kept trying it on trying to figure out how to make it work for me but it just does not fit me. I'm small and am used to things being roomy and long, and in fact wanted something loose enough to fit over other layers, but this is way too long, unfortunately. It's long in the space from the top seams to the armpits and then it's not a floppy fabric so it stands up in that area, creating a clothes pin look as if I'm being hung up inside the shirt. I have another shirt by Duckworth in XS that fits me perfectly lengthwise so this longness was a surprise. If they had an XXS I'd be all over it.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I would wear this everyday if I could. The cowl neck makes for a cozy yet sohpistucated look, and I love the warmth.

    Love at first snuggle

First off- size down and don't worry because you'll still be able to layer underneath. I have seldom taken this off since received at Xmas. I wear it skiing, ice fishing, lounging around the house and out on the town- it fits many occasions. The high neck is both practical as a wind block, and gives it an edge of sophistication, so even though I feel like I'm wearing my pajamas to the grocery store- it doesn't look like I am.... I often get overheated mid-Nordic ski in synthetic gear. This wool piece is highly breathable and doesn't leave me a chilled, sweaty mess whenever I stop. Same with ice fishing- I can hike to my location warm, without sweating up a storm & then layer up for the waiting game. It would make a great versatile winter travel piece. Other pros: doesn't stink when you do, doesn't wrinkle, never really looks dirty...Great US made purchase!
