Just remember to come up for air.

The DPS Women's Yvette 112 RP2 Pure3 Ski is an undiluted all-mountain charger with the chops to plane through pow, smash crud, and rail down groomers til the lifts cease to spin. The Yvette may borrow dimensions from DPS' award-winning Wailer, but this women-specific ski is anything but a, "shrink it and pink it," kind of job. Looking under the hood, the Yvette features the Pure3 Carbon + Nano sandwich construction, which consists of an aspen wood core, full UHMW sidealls, and a carbon fiber laminate—this makes the Yvette both 30 percent lighter and torsionally stiffer than traditional boards.

Paddle Tech geometry enables the Yvette to effortlessly float through deep fluff, while a heavily rockered tip makes for easy planing and schmearability in deep powder. Camber underfoot and a moderately sized waist offers plenty of float and maintains a good amount of maneuverability once conditions turn variable. You might expect the Yvettes to tip the scales in the wrong direction with their full side walls, wide profile edges, and World Cup race bases, but with a weight just under seven pounds, they remain light and nimble whether you're slarving through the trees inbounds or making hop turns deep in the backcountry.

    All around fast and fun!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The past couple years I've been really stoked to have the Yvette as my main squeeze on the slopes. I demo'd a number of DPS and other skies before making it official and feel like I have a good perspective as I've also done some ski testing in the past. I've skied most my life (about 30 years now) and do ski aggressively at times, but sometimes I reel it in because of conditions, how tired/sore I am or just because my skiing has changed some as I've gotten a little older. I share that just for a little context...the truth is I have a blast on these skis no matter conditions. The obvious point? They RULE in pow and soft snow. But they are also so solid under foot in choppy conditions and I have a lot of fun carving them on groomers due to their unique shape. Definitely double thumbs up double rainbow review on my end!

    All around fast and fun!

less is more, when we talk weight!

getting to the top becomes a little easier.

Hi Emily, i am using Gecko skins. They are clueless and made of mohair - they are lighter than traditional skins, and you never have an issue with glue bits getting stuck on the skis. Much easier to handle too. You guys should carry them!!

    Fantastic all around ski

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is one of my favorite all time ski - i use it for touring and backcountry, but it's so versatile, it is amazing all over the resort inbounds, from skied out icy bumps to bashing the groomers. I much prefer the 112 waist of the Yvette to the 99 of the ninas - the yvette does everything the Nina does, but it's more stable and powerful.

The weight difference is staggering, especially when you skin or boot pack, but even in the resort it keeps the legs less tired.

    I am 5'4", 108 pounds and i ski the 168.

Tiny complaint to DPS - can we rename the ski to something a little cooler please???

    Fantastic all around ski

Yes - they do come in a nice blue, but not in the pure carbon. They seem to be doing the entire line like that… Agreed it would be super if they offered custom…The sizing is also too sparse - would be better to have 6cm increments instead of 10, i.e. 162; 168; 174 etc

Best Ski I have ever had.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have skied 50 plus years, and this is by far the best ski I have ever owned..Great in Powder, but amazing control and edge on ice, crud, groomers as well..the color is out of this world..Do not think because of the color this is a "girls" ski...Same ski as the Wailer 112 rp.

I am buying a second pair just for a backup.....

I ski only at Jackson Hole...and it is perfect here.

Best Ski I have ever had.

Great performance in powder and beyond!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm about 5'4" and ski the Yvette 112RP2 Pure 3 in the 168 cm. These are the best, most versatile skis I've ever owned! They float well and are responsive in the Snowbird/Alta powder. AND, they feel solid on the groomed runs too. I love these skis!!!!!!

Best All Mountain Ski I have ever Owned!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Seriously, I am in love with my Yvette's! As an ex-competitive racer, I always enjoyed a ski that can hold an edge. My Yvetter's carve on hard-pack, float in the pow and drive like a bat out off hell through crud. The lightness of the ski is leg saving (in my old age of 40) and the design allows me to take just one pair on my rack when I head to the mountain. Love, love, love them!!!

Best Powder Skis that also translate

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love love love these skis in the powder, but unlike other skis, they work pretty well on groomers too. So fun for a female. I'm 5'-4' and about 125 lb, somewhat aggressive and they work well.

    Skin recommendation for these ladies?

    Hey Tornadoweather,

Check out the Backcountry exclusive skins. These are a great all around skin. If you email me with the terrain you want to ski and the length of the ski I can give you a more detailed answer of the right skin for the type of skiing you like to do.
