Made to push the limits.

DPS gave the iconic Wailer 105 Pure3 Ski a redesign last season, and things went well enough that the company left well enough alone for 2015/16. To make this all-mountain freeride ski a little more aggressive, DPS mellowed out the sidecut profile, giving the 105 a raging 28m turning radius in the 185cm length (hint: that means the ski wants to go straight and fast), and a flat tail for powerful edging and train-track turning. Full camber underfoot steps up the traditional, stable, and aggressive feel another notch or two, and the full sandwich construction and aggressive UHMW sidewalls prevent torsional twisting and direct power directly into the edges, so you'll never feel unstable or like you're lacking bite when you're pinching the throttle on hardpack or in rough mixed conditions.

The Wailer 105 might like to charge, but we don't mean to suggest that it's a one-dimensional hard-snow ski. First of all, it has a 105mm waist, which helps it toe the line between all-mountain charger and big-mountain comp ski, and as aspen core that's nimble, lightweight, and powerful all at once. There's not a ton of tip rocker, but the tip will rise up when you weight the ski, giving you enough float to make short work of soft conditions and choppy snow. Charging happens regardless of the conditions, though, so DPS sandwich the core between two stiff but light layers of prepreg carbon fiber—its legendary Pure3 construction—so you can push the Wailer 105 to the limit in whatever snow you find up in the alpine.
