Have a wailer of a good time.

No one likes a chatter box, especially when it comes to your skis. And while its name might allude to something that's been gifted with a boisterous (and metaphorical) set of vocal cords, the DPS Skis Powderworks Wailer 112 RPC 2.0 gets its name from its hard-hitting, wail-worthy versatility. Apart from the fact that it's in DPS' Dreamtime lineup (which, by default makes it a limited edition release and therefore tenfold more rad), the Powderworks Wailer sets itself apart from the original Wailer 112 RPC with a newly redesigned, damping mechanism that takes the chatter out of the box. This damping technology (called Perimeter Weighted Inserts) not only smoothens your ride, but offers a sugary-sweet and seamless connection between you and the snow, especially when it comes to uneven terrain.

Now, as glorious as the sound of silence can be, the whole point of the Powderworks Wailer lay in its alpine touring, powder-friendly construction. Built for crud, powder, and varied terrain, the Wailer features a stout, powerful design that's best suited for those who prefer to point-and-shoot thanks to the 112mm width waist, which for an alpine touring plank may seem pretty chunky, but in fact offers substantial versatility. The rockered tip and tail, combined with camber underfoot, provides just enough float and maneuverability to not only charge through slog, but enjoy wistful powder days of yore, while the minimal sidecut tapers down to almost nothing at the rocker contact points. DPS calls this sidecut "Paddle Tech," which means the Powderworks Wailer delivers an exceptionally smooth, reliable, and hook-free turner.

And speaking of reliability, the Powderworks Wailer boasts DPS' famed Pure3 core, which consists of an energetic and lively aspen wood that's been sandwiched between between two layers of prepeg carbon fiber laminate and UHMW sidewalls. This technology ultimately makes the ski 30% lighter and 30% more torsional stiffness than similar sticks with the traditional construction. To tie things up in a neat little bow, DPS outfitted this ski with seriously tenacious steel edges, finished with 48 Rockwell, and mega-speedy World Cup bases, so you can double down on leading the chase back from point A to point B.
