Land of the lotus eaters.

We've all been there—the first turn that sends snow well over your head and leaves you gasping for breath, followed by nothing but the white room for what feels like minutes—it's this feeling that will make skiers quit jobs, sleep in snowy parking lots, and drive hundreds of miles cross-country based on the chance of a storm. But as we all know, moments like these are few and far between, so when you're staring down the barrel of a steep, untracked line, be sure you're on a pair of skis that will make the most of the powder experience: the DPS Lotus 120 Spoon Skis.

Borrowing design principles from the AK- and BC-proportioned Spoon ski, the Lotus 120 maintains the same slarvability as its titanesque brother with a convex base in the shovel, which allows for increased control over turn shapes, easy planing, and blimp-like float. Where the Lotus sets itself apart; however, is with its flat tail that delivers a solid feel and increased drive at the end of your turn. With 122mm underfoot and 140mm in the shovel, the Lotus is still a dedicated powder ski, but it will remain skiable once the resort's tracked out, or when that sleeper spring storm quickly turns to mank under the afternoon sun.

Based on its dimensions, you might expect the Lotus to weigh well over ten pounds, but thanks it Pure3 Carbon + Nano construction, it weighs just over eight. Pure3 construction makes the ski both 30% lighter than traditional sandwich construction skis and 30% more torsionally stiff, so you get the same stiff, powerful performance at a fraction of the weight. The construction consists of a lightweight aspen wood core and a pure prepreg carbon fiber laminate. World Cup race bases ensure speed and longevity, while full UHMW sidewalls and wide profile Rockwell steel edges deliver a solid and stable feel.
