Yes, its a pom pom, and yes its cool. The 80's style is enough to bring you back, but the color and feel of the tightly knitted material will assure you its from this side of the millennium. Retro style and futuristic material, this hat has style that you have to want to rock. I got one for the girl, and she pulls it off with ease. For me the black/grey pom fit my style and for her the kelly green/yellow looked best. Around town, driving to the hill in the cold mountain mornings, this hat feels great.
