The hand built 6061-T6 aluminum frame's 70-degree head tube and sub-17-inch chainstays take advantage of the stiff SRAM crankset by providing a platform for sharp handling, responsive acceleration, and efficient climbing. The Axis Comp's middle-of-the-road 27.5-inch wheels strike a balance between 29ers, which can be bullish but unwieldy, and the nimble but less aggressive 26-inch standard — enjoying virtually all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks of either. In addition to its forgiving 100mm of XC travel, the Axis Comp's RockShox fork has a lockout feature that lets you stiffen the Axis Comp's front end for top speed on the logging road or tarmac that lead to the trailhead.
