Life's too short to wear crappy shoes.
Triathlons can be won and lost in the transition zones, so it's important to have your switchovers dialed. Slipping wet feet into snug shoes can cost you valuable time, so Diadora made sure the Phantom Men's Shoes are easy to get on and off, without sacrificing the fit you need to make time on the ride. They're designed with Diadora's Race Plus TPU upper, which fits as snugly as the name suggests, but has extra room in the toebox for easy ons and comfortable sockless riding. Even if your foot is wet, the Morpho AM cage will lock your heel in place and prevent side-to-side slippage, so you don't develop blisters or lose power to a loose fit.
To further improve the fit, Diadora built the Phantom with dual-ring adjustments for the hook-and-loop straps. You can choose which ring you thread the strap through, to increase or reduce volume depending on the width of your feet. Underneath, a carbon- and fiberglass-reinforced Sport Road sole serves up a killer blend of stiffness and comfort, so you can put power to the pedals without killing your feet.

- Q & A
Good begginer's shoe
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 43
Purchased them over a month ago and I've ridden on them every time since. This was my first road shoe so I didn't know what to expect. I still cannot compare it to higher end models but this is what I've noticed:
- Shoe is relatively stiff
- comes with a very flat footbed
-velcro is easy to use and appears to be of good quality
-heel lining may cause irritation
I have very arched feet and the sole which came with the shoes was not suitable. I was going numb on every ride. I replaced it with a more supportive sole.
I will use these until they start feeling worn out, but I feel for a little more cash you can get a better quality product.
Last thing, the picture which is shown here for the white shoe does not show the silver bits in the middle and on the heel. More silver than you'd expect.
Lightweight good entry level shoe
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs large
As someone who as been riding mountain bikes my whole life I decided getting into road biking would help me crush the hills on the mtn bike.
This is the first road shoe I have experience with.
The first thing i noticed is that this shoe runs large by about a full size. I wear a 41 in shimano mtn bike shoes. I had to return these and get a size 40 (I wear a size 8 street shoe). The 40 fits but the toe box is a bit big, so if you've got hammer toes or wide feet this might be a good option for you (i do not so the toes aren't as snug as i would like). Also, there isn't much of an arch in these shoes, like at all, even though the description kind of says it does. Ventilation is OK. You might get toasty in the summer months.
These shoes are very light. Stiff enough. Easy to get in and out of.
like the title, these would be good for someone starting out
The picture of the yellow shoes are different...
The picture of the yellow shoes are different then all the others (ratchet strap and 2 straps vs a 2x strap on the others). What one is correct?
Sorry about that, but the photo of the yellow 2strap and 1 compression strap is incorrect. Our Content department has been made aware of the issue and it should be resolved quickly. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. firstname.lastname@example.org
