One part pack, one part suitcase for your nomadic tenancies.

The hybrid Deuter Transit 50 Pack mixes the carrying comfort of a backpack with the traveling convenience of a piece of luggage for your constant state of motion. The adjustable Variquick harness system matches your torso size, but tucks away when you want to use its included padded shoulder strap to carry it from the bus to the airport terminal. Plus, a detachable daypack lets you ditch the pack at the hostel but still carry around your camera, rain jacket, and traveler's dictionary.

  • Variquick adjustable shoulder harness provides custom adjustment to match your individual back length, and can be completely concealed when you check it at the airport or train station
  • Padded, perforated shoulder harness and waist belt encourage breathability for a cool, comfortable trek
  • Pivoting waist belt moves with your maneuvers while successfully transferring the load to your legs
  • Removable shoulder strap (not backpack strap) features padding so you can carry the pack like a duffel bag
  • Large, front U-shaped zipper provides easy front access to the pack
  • Daypack features soft shoulder straps, a front pocket, and can be buckled onto the front of the pack to help you store additional gear or clothing
  • Bottom-accessed sleeping bag compartment holds your bag, shoes, or other gear you want separate from the main compartment
  • Bottom compression straps shrink the load into a solid, manageable pack for shorter treks and also double as gear attachment points
  • Fits torso sizes between 15.5-22in

Here's what others have to say...

The specs on this are just a little over the standard carry-on limits for airlines. Ever heard of there being a problem, or the pack not allowed as a carry-on?

Hey Chris, I haven't heard of anyone having any problems using it as a carry on. I'm sure if it's packed out (completely full) that you may get an airline attendant say something about it, but I doubt it. I've taken a carry on back pack of similar dimensions myself without any problems.

Hi! Does the 50L is from both Backpack + Daypack? or only the Backpack?

The main pack is 50L (3050 cubic inches) and the daypack is 12L (730 cubic inches).

Great Backpacking pack!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Went to Southeast Asia this past Summer and used it for a solid month. The pack held up real well in the rain, especially where I was at, allowed plenty of space to bring back a ton of stuff after the trip. Overall, a solid bag, plus the shoe compartment was a lifesaver. And my favorite was the mini pack up front for those day treks around the city or the jungle!

Great Travel Pack!

I got this for my trip to Hawaii. I wanted something that I could pack a decent amount of clothes and have a separate compartment for shoes. The best part about this pack is the fact that the front backpack can be removed. I use it almost daily for school because my 11" laptop fits perfectly. I'd highly recommend this if you'd like a small day-pack in addition to your luggage while abroad. You can carry on the small bag on the plane and check the big pack.
