Deuter's S Lite 600 Backpack is a lightweight ski pack that's designed to make getting your skis on and off the pack an easy task. The front zipper access pocket creates a fast and efficient way to get to your gear. Remove or attach your skis without fumbling this small pack. Deuter created the S Lite with 1200cu inches of space and the capability to hold up to 15 lbs of equipment. It's hydration compatible and has a special pocket to hold your GPS system giving your most valuable items a place of their own. Deuter's vent system creates a space between your back and the pack to reduce uncomfortable sweating during your race.
Bottom Line: When you're trying to go as fast as you can, get a pack that won't weigh or slow you down.

Fantastic for skiing, cycling, and day trekking. Too bad Deuter chose to discontinue it, cannot buyt it anywhere now.

The loops at the bottom will be too narrow for most alpine skis. You could carry these together at a diagonal angle.

Solid pack for the side country

Good pack for side country trips - enough space to stuff in skins, shovel blade, water, camera and a little food. As long as you don't mind strapping your probe and shovel handle to the outside of the pack. Which is my only complaint - the cinches to tie down said items come loose very easily.
