The Deuter Pace 30 Backpack is ideal for backcountry adventures, carrying your skis and other gear up the mountain on race day, or being the ultimate ski bum. The large front stretch pocket can easily handle a helmet or shell. Stretch side pockets are perfect for water bottles, or you can add your water reservoir to the hydration compatible inner sleeve. The mesh shoulder straps and hip belt offer ventilated comfort, and less overall weight, so you can spend more energy on having fun.

You could use either the 2L or 3L as Guy suggested. It is personal preference but I always suggest buying the larger reservoir and simply not totally filling it up on shorter trips.

I promised I'd give this pack a good rating if I could get everything into it.

With a full 3L bladder, full size synthetic sleeping bag, stove, puffy, bivy, and smaller items in the main compartment, the bag was maxed out.

Some issues I found were the tips of the plastic internal frame eventually working through the exterior fabric, or the tips of the frame coming out of their little sleeves (sleeves that normally keep the frame in place inside the water reservoir area). Also the brand logos fall off with heavy use.

All the components are very lightweight but haven't fallen apart after a year of moderate usage.
