Description

Little buddy, your carriage awaits.

You want your kid to have the finer things in life; and by that, you mean the best views of nature's awesome beauty. So tote him along in the Deuter Kid Comfort 1 Carrier. Deuter's design ensures proper weight distribution, adjustability, support, and moisture transfer to keep the person wearing the pack just a happy as the little person who loves to go along for the ride.

The Variquick adjustment system allows parents to easily change the strap locations for the ideal fit for both mom and dad (torso adjust: 15-20 inches). You'll stay cool, because the Aircomfort mesh back panel draws moisture away from your back and permits air to flow in/out (from the bottom and sides) to keep your back cool and dry. The padded hip-belt and aluminum frame provide support and proper weight distribution. Two handles aid in putting the pack on or hauling it in and out of your car. In case you need to set the carrier down (with or without your kid in it), the fold-out aluminum stand is directly attached to the frame to support the carrier on level surfaces. A large lower pouch and small mesh side pocket are ideal for diapers, snacks, and bottle.

Rest assured that your kid will be transported in luxury with the Kid Comfort (it's got to live up to its name, after all). The 5-point harness secures child with cushioned straps and easy-to-use buckle that makes getting the little one in and out easy. The height-adjustable seat permits use with babies and toddlers (babies should be able to hold up head before riding in carrier). You can vary the distance from the frame whether your kid is upright or sleeping with the adjustable shoulder/head pads. The head pad lets your kid sleep soundly and even catches stray drool.

KC1 will make getting outside easy

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As soon as your child develops head/neck controll, ditch the bjorn and upgrade to the KC 1. It's got a bomber harness for your child, and ample side and chin padding - so its nice and cozy. It's on an external frame and carries so well- no more slumping back ache. The child's seat is adjustable - so you can make it longer/lower as your child grows. We cinched it up all the way and had our daughter riding in the back at about 6 months. Both parents can adjust the pack with 1 simple strap (takes less than a minute) so trading off is a snap. The child's weight transfers to your hips, which becomes important as they grow from 15 to 35 lbs. The pack is light-weight with one big storage compartment for your child's necessities; one parent can bring this pack and have everything they need for a half day adventure. It's got a removable sun-shade option - which is a must-have while hiking - but it pulls right out for packing up in the car or bus. We used the pack hiking, fishing, and frequently around the block to induce sleep. Eventually we moved up to a KC3 (more storage to bring climbing gear on longer adventures) and all our friends were drooling over the KC1 for a hand-me-down. It's a great pack and will get you outside with your little one.
