You hike fast, and you want a pack that’s low in weight but still comfortable and load-supportive. You don’t need a built-in blender and unnecessary extras, but load-bearing stays and a comfy harness system sound good. Turn to the Deuter Futura Zero 40 Backpack.

  • Aircomfort Backsystem with durable, lightweight, steel spring stays that support 30 pounds of gear
  • Stabilizer straps on shoulder harness and hip-belt for precise pack positioning
  • Contoured hip-belt and springy mesh back panel for comfort and cooling
  • Microrip ripstop nylon with PU coating resists wear and keeps weight down

Bottom Line: Light and comfortable.

great pack!

I have used this pack for several overnight trips with varying distances. It is light, comfortable and easy to pack. The belt tightens differently than other packs because you pull the strap to the inside. The material is durable and looks good after some rough trips. It has handled itself well in rain, mud and sun and I look forward to many more trips. I believe I can use this on multiple day trips when used like an ultralight pack. Light, durable and super comfortable!

Top notch

This pack is super comfy and is a great fit. The quality of the material is amazing. It has full hydro hook ups and the front kangaroo pouch is great for gear you need to get to quick. I use it to haul all my climbing gear in and everything fits with room to spare. Awesome

Deuter Futura Zero 40

Over the years I have collected many packs and recently this is the one I go to when looking for a day pack. I take it climbing, snowshowing, and hiking. It carries really well, the suspension is excellent and this pack carries weight were it it should, on your hips. The top compartment has two zippered pouches for quick access stuff. The hip belt also has a small pocket on the right side for power gel or something like that. I carry my pack cover in that pocket. I have carried this pack over 100 miles and I love it. Lastly, the back panel is all mesh, so when it is hot outside, this pack helps keep you cool.
