Description

Carry all the gear you need (and maybe some you don't) for an eventful weekend.

The Women's Futura Vario Pro 45+10 SL features Deuter's women-specific Slim Line carry system that features an ergonomic, shorter, and narrower harness and a shorter, adjustable torso to accommodate smaller backs (also popular among shorter men). Aircomfort Vario Pro backpanel increases ventilation while the spring steel frame keeps weight even and the pack stable.

  • Adjustable torso system lets you dial your fit
  • Aircontact system uses an anatomically shaped X-frame for support
  • Breathable hollow-chamber foam improves ventilation via a 'pump' effect that circulates air through the padding
  • Ice axe & trekking pole attachments keep your tools handy at all times
  • Removable sleeping bag divider in the bottom of the pack prevents severe disorganization inside the pack
  • Height-adjustable lid allows for an extra ten liters of gear to be stored
  • Included rain cover conveniently stows in the bottom of the pack

Took on a 9 day trip, hiking an average of 6 miles a day and this pack felt great. Has plenty of pockets, great access through front and bottom, airflow is by far better than any pack I have ever had and swivel hip strap is great!

The one thing that is slightly odd at first are the back pads on the hip belt. At first these feel like they might be uncomfortable, but after the first 30 minutes you don't even notice they are there and I think in the end they prevent hip soreness and are in the right place for a woman's body.

Size was good for me to carry several layers for a wide range of temperatures and an extra pair of shoes, but no sleeping bag or tent for this trip. Most time used 45L, not extra 10 so I think I could have taken the tent and sleeping bag too if I used the extra 10L.

I work on a backcountry trail crew. Finding a pack for work has been a real challenge, since we carry 35-40 pounds of gear. Side pockets are a must, to access small tools and the radio. I've been using this pack for about three weeks, and so far so good. It's comfortable, even with weird loads and a twenty pound chainsaw over my left shoulder. The suspension is very adjustable, and the load stays close to my back--not much flopping around. The built-in rain cover has already come in handy. Packs used daily for work last about two seasons, but this one is so well-made that I hope it will go a little longer.

And the yellow fabric flower attached to the pack is an ultra-feminine touch. None of the boys mess with my stuff.

Will this pack fit as carry on if its not...

Will this pack fit as carry on if its not over packed? I'm looking for something to take back packing for weekend or week trips in Asia but that I can walk around with for a long period in comfort. With the front access could it be used for a holliday without crushing all your clothes?

Probably not. It is right around 45 linear inches empty so with anything in it, it will likely be too big.

I took this on as a carry on and had no problem as long as you do not use the extra 10L and do not over stuff the main compartment.

Excellent Choice
