Do the seams stand up to abuse on this thing? Durability?

It's a very well built pack. All the seams are quite burly, and it'll last a long time.

Chris, I've had mine for almost two years now, and use it for a variety of things. Backpacking, airline travel-on, and a deployment bag for Afghanistan. It's been in helicoptors, paletized in C-130's and basically abused...not one problem with seams, straps, or fasteners!

I'm thinking about doing some mountain bike touring and then I came across this pack. Does anyone have any experience biking this this pack on? How does she handle?

Too big for mountain biking. It has a suspended frame, and is too rigid for comfortable biking as well.

Excellent suspension and ventilation. Hiked AT in MD in unseasonably high temp and humidity and my pack did not contribute to any of my misery. Would optional external compression straps but that being said was able to fit all the gear for a weekend backpacking trip covering 26+ miles

Can you carry-on this bag for a flight or will you have to check it? Looking to use this bag for a 10-day trip to Europe.
