It's time for Junior to start pulling his weight around here. He isn't quite ready to join the workforce, but a little help on the trail would be nice. Strap the Deuter Kids' Fox 40 Pack on his back and he'll be as happy as you are. That's because Deuter is famous for making weight comfortable. The Fox 40 is based on Deuter's adult trekking packs and borrows technology like the Aircontact molded back panel that is desiegned to fuse the hiker and pack into one entity to increase maneuverability and comfort while promoting airflow to cool Junior during the hike.

Great Packs for the Jr Partners!

Love these packs, has all the bells and whistles of the adult packs just sized for the little ones. Plenty of adjustment, I purchased these for a 7 year old and a 5 year old. They both have the torso lengths as small as they go and fit pretty good. I purchased the larger 40 because they can grow into them. For kids of this age; if you want a pack that fits PERFECTLY, I would get the Fox 30 instead. Get them started early!

Does this pack have a hip belt pocket? The description says so but I don't see one in the photos.

what torso lengths does this adjust to?

Not sure about the specifics, but this fit my eight-year-old who is on the small side of his classmates. He was wearing between a six and eight at the time in his shirts.

Osprey makes a couple kids packs with a much wider range of adjustment. (Osprey Jib and Osprey Ace) We eventually switched to the Osprey because it will grow with him all the way up into his early teenage years. The negative with the Osprey pack is that it is very heavy where as this Deuter pack is quite light.
