Pack up and head out.
Load up the Deuter Compact EXP 12 Hydration Pack before a burly single track ride or extended hike. The proprietary Airstripes system ventilates your back for comfort and moisture management, while ample pockets keep your gear organized and close by. A 3M reflective safety attachment adds safety, while a rain cover keeps your maps or extra layers from getting soaked if you decide to push through a downpour.

It's not just a hydration pack.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I love its size. It's perfect for an overnighter backpack or even just to carry stuff if I'm going around town to run errands. I tend to stop at the grocery every 2-3 days and grab small amounts instead of having one big grocery day. The expandable size allows me to bag my groceries directly into the pack and say no to plastic bags.
Mine came with a 3.0L Source hydration bladder too but it might be a while before actually use the bladder. The pocket for the bladder is perfect for a laptop or an iPad. It keeps it separate from the rest of the pack and well protected. (Note: I've seen online discussions and reviews that say the bladder wasn't included).
This is lighter than the daypack it is replacing. My previous one was about the same size. I take this everywhere I travel. It is my default hand carried luggage anytime I'm fly. I take it with me to the mall even just window shopping. I take it with me on day trips where I bring my iPad. It's almost my Every Day Carry.
I just wish you could somehow tuck in the waist pockets if you're not using them. My friend's NorthFace pack has that feature.
The white part isn't bright clean white. It has the month-old look fresh out of the packaging.
