A pack that can take the bad weather with the good.

You've strategically placed your rain jacket in the top pocket of your new Deuter Aircontact 55+10 Backpack, so it's as easy to access as the pack's integrated rain cover when the weather takes a turn for the worse.  Another smart move was to fill the expandable area with a medium-weight fleece and extra food because it looks like this spring squall is more than just a shower.

    • Aircontact Trail System features two breathable back panel pads with an air channel between them that 'pump' to push air up and out while you hike
    • Vari Flex system features a pivoting hip-belt design to allow the pack to move slightly without over-shifting
    • X-Frame stabilizes the load and transmits the energy down to the hip belt
    • Expanded volume feature offers simple size increase when you need to bring along extra food or gear
    • Hydration pocket compatible with a 3L bladder (not included)
    • SOS label on the inside folds out to announce distress when you need help
    • Wet pocket keeps soiled or damp clothes separate from the rest of the contents
    • Integrated rain cover keeps the main body of the pack and its contents dry
    • Item #DTR0165

Bomber backpack and comfortable to carry

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have had my Air Contact 55+10 since 2007. In that time, it has trekked more wilderness than any pack I have owned. The torso adjustment is on the fly with one velcro strap adjustment. It has a super soft back carry and is the most comfortable for a pack in this weight class I have ever used. It has all the room you need, even for the kitchen sink if that is your thing. Side pocket storage is huge. The sleeping bag compartment is the biggest I have seen. I can put my bag, pad, and a small day pack in there. Main chamber is very large and can fit quite a bit in there. The lid has two pockets, one under the lid, and one on top of the pack. Both are very roomy and will hold more than they look. The compression and adjustment straps are easy to use and very comfortable. The hydration sleeve is easy to get into and will run over the shoulder with a loop on the chest strap for you to put the mouth piece in for on the go water. I cannot tell you how many off trail, rubbing against trees and rock, and getting hit with tree branches in tight woods this pack has gone through. The rain fly is built in and easy to access and deploy. loots of loops and straps if you need to carry something on the outside. If you are looking for a mid-weight backpack that will haul everything you need and then some into the wilderness, I highly recommend checking this one out.

    Stampede Pack'n

Hiked to bus 142 this summer and this pack was everything I was hoping for. First time getting Into The Wild and hiking really. It had plenty of room to pack comfortably for a week. Plenty of pockets and straps for all your gizmos and gadgets especially bug spray. The quality and craftsmanship is superb and it does come with a rain cover! I stand behind Deuter., just scooped the ACT 24 and looking forward for some sweet day trips.

Awesome Pack! Great for a few days away.

      • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I really like this pack. Its great for a weekend get away in the mountains or wherever. I took it on a Rim to Rim camp out at the Grand Canyon and on a few weekend hikes. It a great bag with all the storage you would need for a shorter trip. The only down side is there is no rain tarp.
