Next-level protection for high-octane activities.
Giving you full flexibility for slaying backcountry powder, flying down technical singletrack, or pushing your sled at blistering speeds, the Demon Snow Men's Hyper X Vest D30 Body Armor delivers full protection throughout the spine, chest, and shoulders without inhibiting movement. This armored vest features puncture-resistant thermoplastic that's sandwiched between two layers of memory foam at the spine and chest, keeping you fully protected from nasty falls. D30 shoulder caps remain flexible until you take a slam, at which point they stiffen up to dissipate the impact. In addition, this vest features removable upper arm pads that are especially useful for snowmobilers and mountain bikers who hit branches and brush on tight trails.

Was almost perfect
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
I didn't get to take this vest to the slope (snowboarding), didn't want to damage it. Followed the sizing chart fit was good, didn't go all the way down to the lower back but I don't think its supposed to? I liked the idea of the new design with plastic in between the layers of padding, for added protection against sharper objects. BUT, the shoulder pads felt a little too cumbersome. I'm sure the shoulder pads would protect well, especially since I tore ligaments in my shoulder so I'd know. However, if you're going to perform any type of stylish grab the shoulder pads restrict any sort of movement in which your arms go above the shoulders. Overall, I liked the vest but I didn't like that it was going to restrict my arm movements (I need a bit more freedom).
I will be picking up their other vest, but wish they had that new tech of plastic sandwiched in between padding.
Best bang for the buck
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I analyzed and tried on all the snow vests, TekVest, Klime, etc. etc. and this vest is better than most and comes with bicep protectors. The only one that has slightly thicker padding and truly superior sides is the TekVest. But I found the sides to be cumbersome and that vest cost $350 PLUS $80 for the bicep protectors!
