Pretty good but I needed more padding

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These were actually really good for the price point. It has padding on the tail bone, hips, side thighs and both butt cheeks. A lot of padded shorts skimp out on the butt cheeks (i don't know why). They're important if you take a spill on the side, or fall ass cheek first into the snow/ice.

The low profile makes it easy to slide in and out of snowboard pants which is always a plus.

Although these saved my behind more than a few times, I wanted something with more protection. I fell hard on a couple of ice patches and still felt it through the pads. No doubt I would be in worse shape if I didn't have these on, but I wanted something with more cushion.

I returned these and went with the Demon Snow Shield Short Hard Tail. Thanks Dogfunk for being so awesome with returns.

Does it have a plastic shield for the tailbone or just foam?

Responded on

Demon did not put any plastic shields in the Snow Flex-Force Pro Short Body Armor , opting instead to keep padding light and the price low with foam paneling. This would be a good option for someone who wants simple padding that won't have any effect on their mobility. If you are looking for something a little more substantial I would recommend the Demon Snow Shield line.

did the job

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Protects pretty well, I crashed my first time back on the slopes this season but didn't feel a thing with this on. Also added a little more insulation sitting on the snow to get geared up. But no piss hole, that kind of sucks.

does this thing have a pee hole?

J:
They are body armor shorts, so I believe you would just pull them down normally to do your duty.

Responded on

No pee hole but they are easy to pull down with the drawstrings

Can't Do miracles but saved my but!

  • Gender: Male

I'm a long time skier turned almost snow boarder. The measurements felt accurate and didn't require any special modification or adjustment. They fit under my ski pants but just barely. Granted I didn't have a ton of wiggle room in the waist to begin with, but these took all of it and then some.

Are they worth the price? Hard to say. The cost seems a little steep for what you're getting, but the end results may be justification enough.
Second snow boarding trip and while the first one ended in my inability to use a chair, this thing definitely took the edge off. Look, your falling. There is velocity, and your arse is the recipient of the impending impact. This isn't going to save you, but you won't feel your gums vibrating. Who could ask for more!?! If you're really worried, or expect to take a 10 foot fall straight on the glutes, maybe try the hard tail version. For a newbie snow boarder, this worked out great.

Demon Snow Flex-Force Pro Short Body Armor

Does a real good job keeping you coccyx bone protected when you fall. Fit's well under snowboard pants and you forget you have them on. First purchased the Demon Snow Flex-Force X D30 and sent them back because it lacked full tailbone protection and when I fall it's on the tip of the tailboard that takes the hit which can really hurt... the pro short has the protection for that type of fall .. very happy with the protection these shorts offer.

Demon snow

I though they were really poorly made. Definitely look in to some of the other brands. My pro tec shorts were a lot better.

Like it alot

Fits very comfortably. I had to cut the tail bone short cuz it was too long. It wasn't too difficult to do. (there's a plastic sheet that runs in the mddle of the tailbone pad, but there was a gap and i cut it at that spot. I like it alot. Doesn't feel like I'm wearing it and it makes sitting a ski lift comfortable in addition to saving my butt when eating it at the park.
