In both weight and overall warmth, De Marchi has positioned the Contour Plus Stealth Bib Tights in the middle of its cold-weather line; offering the best of both the Contour Plus Tights, and the Contour Plus Ultra Tights. The impressive fabric blend of the top-shelf offering is slightly scaled back, without compromising the Contour's signature anatomical fit and excellent warmth and wicking capabilities.

Formerly known as the award-winning Contour Plus Bib Tights, the revised Stealth tights are made from an intelligent combination of several fabrics: wind-blocking, three-layer Thermashield in several strategic zones on the front of the tight, and Thermolite Roubaix throughout the rest of the tight. Thermolite Roubaix is the next evolution in the vein of the superlative Italian fabric, Super Roubaix -- only this time, this fabric remains exclusive to De Marchi. The benefits of this fabric in the Contour Bib Tights are clear; the core of this toasty fleece-backed fabric is made from hollow Thermolite fibers which reduce the fabric's overall weight while enhancing its thermal capacity. The outer faces of the fabric are then treated with a protective Teflon application which helps better shield you from wet spray or mud stains.

The Contour Plus Stealth Bib Tights are built for serious winter miles. As such, they boast the subtly revised C12 Elastic Interface Technology (EIT) pad. The streamlined, unobtrusive profile of the chamois consists of two half-moon sections sonically welded together for a flat, almost undetectable seam. The multi-density foam pad is perforated for optimal ventilation and is topped by a wicking, bacteriostatic waffled micro fiber fabric. Just like a good base layer, the chamois wicks moisture away from your skin and transfers it towards the shorts' exterior where it can evaporate so you won't find your seat area soaked in cold sweat for the duration of your ride.

True to the tights' name, De Marchi cuts the panels for a naturally contoured fit that allows you to move and warm up effortlessly -- especially clutch on those days that require a big effort just to get started. You'll benefit from less effort in another small, but important way. De Marchi has also included a short zipper in the front of the bib uppers to facilitate getting them on and off and for the all-important nature break at the roadside. Laser-cut stirrups help secure the lower legs of the tights in your shoes to best lock in warmth. The Contour Plus Stealth Bib Tights are available in sizes Small through XXX-Large, and in the color Black.

Runs a bit small in Size

De Marchi Stealth Bib –
Sizing; I purchased these bibs but did not get a chance to try them out. This is the 2nd year I have attempted to order De Marchi’s in the specified size it states, and yet they seem to run smaller. I ordered a medium, I am 5” 9” and weigh about 145. Mostly they are a bit snug in the groin area.

Construction; style - Upon receiving these, when I opened the box and took em out, I wasn’t as impressed with them as I thought I would be. They are decently thick and feel as though they would be warm, but for instance, the logo’s on the leg looked like a screen print of some type that would eventually fade or break apart, as well the foot straps did not look well constructed. I have a pair of De Marchi TIX bibs from 2010 (in Large size), I was very impressed with those in construction and feel.

My bottom line; De Marchi is a nice brand, but I just wasn’t feeling their product this year so I sent them back and went with a Gore product instead. I can attest that my older De Marchi’s are warm for winter riding and have stood up to MTB, gravel riding, and distance riding pretty well - I would assume you could depend on the same quality. If you are sensitive to sizing, I would go with the next size up and/or contact a Real Cyclist Rep for some suggestions!
