Description

Travis Rice likes DC's Status.

The boot of choice for Travis Rice, the DC Status Boa Boot gives you the support you need for going big all season long. With the in-and-out convenience of Boa technology, a stiff flex, and Aerotech ventilation, this boot was born to spend long days in the backcountry.

  • Boa Constrictor closure system quickly and easily tightens down overlays in the forefoot and steel laces in the upper zone independently for the optimal fit and even, comfortable pressure
  • Silicone-impregnated full grain leather shell lasts longer and molds to your feet over time (plus, it looks classy)
  • Aerotech ventilation system on the outer shell allows heat to escape, leaving your feet dryer and warmer
  • 3D tongue flexes with the boot to give you flex where you want it, while molded backstay gives you support where you need it
  • Lightweight Unilite outsole with an aggressive Push Zone tread pattern maximizes traction and prevents snow from building up under your feet
  • Impact G shock-absorbing system in the outsole takes the sting out of hard landings
  • Top-of-the-line Alpha G liner includes multi-density zones to balance a cushy feel with responsiveness, J-Bar ankle stabilizers and neoprene ankle straps to keep your heel locked in, and an Aegis anti-microbial treatment to prevent foot funk
  • Internal ankle harness locks down your heel for maximum control
  • 1:1 shell-to-liner ratio provides a seamless fit in every size and reduced overall foot print

Hi any stock of 11.5? When will the 2014 version come out?

Unfortunately no more 11.5s this season. We usually start getting our winter stuff at the warehouse in the late summer/early fall.

The five stars I'm leaving here are not just for the boots themselves but for the awesome customer service I got from backcountry.com. I originally ordered these on Amazon (although sold and shipped by backcountry). They arrived about three days before I was scheduled to fly out to CO for a four-day boarding trip. I was dismayed to find out the boots were a half size too small. I called BackCountry and they next-day-air shipped a new pair (FOR FREE I might add) in the right size. Although I ended up paying double, I sent the original pair back and got a refund about a week later. Although Amazon's customer service is great, I don't think they could have done a better job than BackCountry in getting me the right boots on time. They arrived the day before I left and fit perfectly.

Needless to say, I had no time to really break-in the boots, but that wasn't a problem. From the minute you put them on and strap in, they feel great (almost like you're wearing nothing). They're super stiff, making them more responsive than other boots I've had, yet they weigh about half as much as my last pair. I really put them to the test, too. Four straight days of boarding black diamonds at A-Basin, Vail, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain. Not once did I stop to think about my feet being uncomfortable. Trust me when I say that you get what you pay for. A few years ago I would have laughed at the thought of paying $280 for a pair of boots, but they really do make all the difference in the world.

FYI, they do seem to run a little small. My last pair of boots were Vans, size 10 and I ended up having to get these in size 11. Hope this helps anyone on the fence about them.

I used to have the DC judge and deemed that boot to be the pinnacle of performace for snowboard boot. Comfortable, stylish and excellent fitment along with mind boggling responsiveness. As good as the judge is in all of these attributes, the Status is just better at doing all of these things.Plus Tavis Rice wears it, shouldn't you?
