Trends, tricks, and technology in snowboarding come and go, but some things will never get old, like the feeling of a pow turn, the style in a perfectly poked method, and traditional lacing. The DC Men's Ceptor Snowboard Boot is loaded with all sorts of features to keep your feet warmer, drier, and more comfortable, but still has the tried-and-true reliability and customizable fit of a traditional lacing system.

Direct Power Lacing uses traditional lacing and upgrades it with specially designed overlays that increase leverage for optimal shell closure and a custom fit. Stay comfy throughout the day in the Black liner, which features anatomical J-bars to keep your heel locked down, heat-moldable EVA foam for a custom fit, and an Impact G heel cushion to absorb shock from harsh impacts. The Aerotech ventilation system uses integrated vents in the liner and shell to transfer moisture away from your foot so it stays dry and warm. Lightweight Unilite material in the outsole shaves weight and increases rebound, while strategically placed rubber increases durability in high wear areas.

Really comfy, too wide heel for bindings

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As Bryan T. said, don't be afraid when you slip your feet in for the first time, they will be perfect after a few ride. The Aerotech really make a difference when you hike with them.

My only cons with these boots, Is that I've bought the 13 one for my big feet, and the heel is a little bit too wide; it always get squeezed/stucked in my bindings, even though my bindings are XLarge. I have to really push them every time I bind my foot to get it tight.

Incredibly comfy and stiff for smooth freeride riding, I teach with them too.

When I wrote this I was using 2006 K2 Formula (Full metal exept for highback), and now I am using the Rossignol XV 2014 bindings and they do well with the heel. I still have to push them through the heelcup to have a nice fit but it's better than the K2.

Oh and consider that mine are size 13... 10 and under should not have this problem.

Sizing is inaccurate, but nice boot!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I wear a 10.5 street shoe. I ordered a 11.5 Ceptor, and my toes are still really crowded in the toe-box. I can't imagine they'd sack out enough to make it fit right. I've already wasted 4 rounds of returns due to DC's inaccurate sizing....Not sure if I want to attempt trying a size 12...........Really Backcountry, WTF?

Great Fitting Tradition Lace Boot

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These boot are great for all mountain boarding. I use it to not only ride for fun, but to teach in them.

They fit really tight out of the box and required two rounds of heat molding and two days of hard riding to fit perfectly. The toe box was really tight around my big toes, but now they are perfect.
