I wear men's size 14 or 15 shoes, regular width. Darn Tough size XL fits my feet great. These socks seem to be of solid construction and provide a bit more cushioning than other socks I've tried. They are my go-to sock for hiking.
Best all rounder!

Great for everything! Very nice fit, and stays in place well. Holds up to quite a bit of abuse and only shows minimal wear. Odor control is top notch. Can use all season, even as a heavy liner sock in really cold conditions. My favorite sock to wear to the office as well. I definitely recommend!
Warm, odor free!

Just got a chance to use these again on a 4-day snowmobiling trip in Northern Maine, temp was -10F. My wife was a first time user. Toes and feet were toasty. They are an automatic on all my snowmobile trips! Love that Merino wool!

I have pretty much only where these socks matched with some sock liners. They are amazing. They seem to hold up really well. Plus that life time warranty lets me play hard without worry.

The promo material on this sock says "Blister free, padded, and supportive?" I agree on all accounts. And they wear extremely well. Never worn out a heal, toe, or ball of foot. The only issue I have had is wearing on the back of my foot above the heal where the top of the shoe rubs. But it takes a long time for that to degrade the sock. Also these have a nice tight weaving that really helps keeping dust out. Although they are definitely not "dust proof" (what is?) they do a better job than any other sock I have worn. I actually prefer drymax socks if I am going to be in wet conditions, but other than that, this is the only sock I now wear. My only complaint - why not come out with some wild colors? - These, as with most mens performance socks are sooooo boring looking.

I have two pair of these socks in olive that I received as a gift. I have worn them 5 days a week for nearly 3 years. They do not stink. They have not worn down. There are no holes (unlike smartwool which always falls apart quick). The elastic is still good. They are still comfortable and they are still warm.
Best socks I've owned. Only other merino sock I can compare it to is my multiple smartwool running socks and some columbia hiking socks.
Any future merino sock purchases, I will look for Darn Tough.
best damn socks ever

I wear these socks year round, at work (construction), hiking, and casually. I have had some pairs for 5 years. Plus they have a lifetime warranty.
Nice sock...

This is a great, well built sock that will last. I'm on season #2 with em. However, the sizing seems to run a bit small. I often wear a size 13 shoe, but have a somewhat low volume foot, occasionally fitting into size 12's and still found the XL to fit almost too tight around the heel to the front of my ankle.
My favorite socks

These are the best socks ever. Until recently, I always bought smart wool, even though I wear through them way too fast.
I found Darn Tough about 8 months ago, tried them and they really are amazing.
I initially bought them because of their warranty, but now I just love them.
I just bought 3 more pair. They live up to their name.
Not sure....

I've been using mostly SmartWool hiking socks and thought I'd give these a try - they seem okay but doesn't seem to have the "soft feeling" of SmartWool. I'll give it half a year and update.

I've never had a pair of Darn Tough socks before, so I thought I would give them a try. First time on they feel exactly that, Darn Tough! These socks just feel like they are going to hold up for awhile. Wore them for two days all day for the first wearing and not any horrible odors forming. Day three was time to wash them. Going to keep my feet happy this winter and more to come!

Ordered the 'taupe stripe' ones and it turns out they are women's socks. Specifically says women's on the packaging. I really don't have a problem wearing "women's" socks, but I was hoping for more cushioning in the back of the heel. Definitely a little disappointed that BC has these mislabeled. Based on the photos, I'm guessing the 'seafoam' socks are also women's. I'm sure my wife will be enjoying them.
Very Good

I freaking love these socks. I'm VT born and raised, and will not touch a pair of socks if they are not darn tough. I have several pairs of smartwools that all take second place to my darn toughs. Ankle, crew, knee high any darn tough sock is well worth it. I've never had a pair of these socks wear through, and I've never had any problems with blisters or rubbing in these socks. Absolutely perfect

Wore them on an overnight trip near Flagstaff. They were great when the temps were in the 50's. Very thick and comfy, but at lower elevations when the temps were in the 70's they were just too warm. My feet don't normally get too hot when I hike but I experienced a lot of sweating in these. In short, fantastic socks for when the weather is chilly, otherwise try something less thick.
Ultra comfortable

When I first tried these on, I was amazed at how thick these socks were. The cushioning some superior in comfort and despite this they breath very well. I recently was wearing these in some cold and wet weather in Michigan and my feet were completely comfortable. I would suggest these as a great investment.

I wear a size med. in every other sock brand and figured the size chart on BC.com was lying so i bought a med. It's not. Needless to say they do not fit my size 9.5-10 feet. However my mother now has some new socks that she just loves. I am looking forward to getting myself a pair sometime soon.
