Blister-free, padded, and supportive? Darn Tough is right.

Darn Tough gave the Merino Wool Micro Crew Cushion Hiking Sock a dash of spandex so your trail-tromping paws stay extra comfy while you tick off the miles. The Micro Crew blows away your heavy, itchy wool socks with its built-in elastic arch support and high-density padding in the heel and toes . Darn Tough built these midweight beauties with merino wool that’s naturally resistant to stinky odors and breathes moisture to keep your feet blister-free.

My father has become OCD about his socks

    • Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit:True to size
    • Size Bought: XL

I remember my father wearing cotton socks when I was growing up. He converted to merino with hesitance up front, but has never looked back. He has worn many different brands of merino socks since then, and these are his first experience with Darn Tough. He said they are true to size, comfortable, and moisture wicking. He can't wait to test them out hiking.

    The BEST sock, ever!

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit:True to size

I've got one pair of these I bought 3 seasons ago, and several I've bought since and the oldest pair still look/feel brand new. Super comfy, even with several wears between washing. Never get any blisters, hot spots or bunching with these babies.

Get these socks. I have strayed occasionally, but nothing ever compares to the wonder that is Darn Tough. Comfortable, durable, perfect. Never too hot or cold, perfect wicking action, never falls down around my ankle. I have never gotten a blister when wearing these socks, and if you're pushing for an ultra light weight backpacking trip, you can probably get three days of use from 1 pair before the smell becomes a problem.

    Best socks period!

I have put countless miles on and off the trail on my Darn Tough socks and they are no worse for the wear! I look forward to they day when I can cash in on their infamous ironclad warranty! I preach to anyone who will listen on how awesome these socks are!

    Best sock ever.

As many people I was skeptical about paying 20 bucks for a pair of socks, but after using and abusing these socks I'm sold. I now own 6 pairs of these in various styles. Have never gotten a blister since using these. The socks look brand new after 100's of miles on them. Do yourself a favor and buy these.

    Darn Tough MWMCCH Socks Rock!

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:True to size
    • Size Bought: large

I finally bought my first pair of Darn Tough socks. I was tired of my many pairs of "the other brand" merino socks failing prematurely (and having their customer service people whine). These socks - so far - rock! Comfortable, breathable, fit great and look great (I bought the lime variety). In fact, they're so comfortable that, in one stretch, I wore one pair 5 days in a row!

And... on top of all this, these socks have the longest name out there!

    Recommended.

    Perfect Socks

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times

    • Size Bought: Large

I just love these socks. They are perfect. I've got two other pairs of Darn Toughs that are 1/4 length and did an extremely excellent job on the JMT this past summer. They still look brand new. I got this pair to use this past winter, and they've done admirably. I haven't put them through the abuse that the others have gotten, but with Darn Tough you know you're buying a sock that will last you forever. What other socks have a Lifetime Guarantee?

A good buddy and fellow backpacker turned me on to this brand after he discovered on his thru-hike of the AT. Ever since then, it's been the go-to sock I have grown to love. Highly recommend!

    Great Pair of socks

Cool during summer days, warm during winter nights. Put to use during mutilple deployments. Make sure you air dry them.

    Size 11 I use a large.

    Worry free socks

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit:True to size

I wear these socks almost every day. They are really good for all around wear and the merino wool works great for keeping your feet dry and warm. What's great is that these socks do not overheat in the summer. They are also quite comfortable, can be worn for days, and a washing them restores their shape after you have stretched them out.

Since I started wearing Darn Tough socks, I became a sock snob because they really are that good. I have never had any issues with moisture, blisters, or cold feet with their socks.

The Darn Tough warranty is also one of the best around, so if you aren't happy just send them back. You can't go wrong.

    I live in these sox!

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:True to size

I put these on in the morning when the house is cold and don't take them off till midday. I work from home so socks that hold up are critical since no shoes are allowed inside. Darn Tough are super durable and love that they have the warranty! Only wool socks I buy now!

Probably one of the best wool socks

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit:True to size

With countless types/makes of socks, I really didn't know what was better for my hikes that was upcoming at the time of purchase, so I asked for a recommendation and Gear Head Bill Porreca just had one thing to say. You need these Darn Tough Socks.

Purchased them and was glad I listened. These kept me dry, warm, and worked great with my Salewa boots. I'm a size 11 and the large was perfect.

    Dry feet, happy days

    • Familiarity:I've used it several times
    • Fit:True to size

I have used these socks on my most recent hikes and they are killing it, they are awesome for short treks and long hikes alike, and provide a little extra cushioning. Since these are Merino wool they keep your feet feeling dry even after the socks get a little wet, and the anti bacterial nature of Merino means that you can fish these out of the laundry and sport em without offending in a pinch. So far they are holding up very well and have no signs of wearing out or losing cushioning after several uses and washes

    I cannot destroy these!!!

I have owned two pairs of these for several years now, and have put them through dozens and dozens of full, strenuous days in the backcountry and still cannot notice ANY significant wear OR piling of the wool. I usually have to retire my wool hiking socks to the casual wear drawer after about a year because they lose thickness and wear a bit on some spots, but these are the first and only socks I've owned that have lasted well over 3 years and still are in active duty (not in the casual, retired drawer). They have outlasted numerous other pairs of socks which I've owned for a shorter period of time. So far, they are indestructible. Oooooooorah Darn Tough, oorah!

I have a narrow foot and find that socks...

I have a narrow foot and find that socks that are for men and women are too bulky. Does Darn Tough have socks for women?

Dorothy, I have what I call a crow foot for a man. Size 9 very slim and narrow foot. I bought a size large pair in these socks to try out and see how they woulf fit thinking that they probably would be too large, but I'd rather too large than too small...obviously. The large hug my crow feet very well and I luv these socks so much that I bought the last two pair of celery green (hehe) pairs that they had left. I will definitely be buying up a few more pairs of these, although I'm sad bout the celery green color disct. (I'm a hunter and love the camo aspect of the colors). But to answer your overall question I would not be scared to buy these socks as a woman cuz if the large snugly fit my crow feet then I am sure they will do you well! Did I mention I LUV these socks? BC does have some women's socks listed for Darn Tough, but as I said...even the unisex should be fine!

There are a few patterned pairs of Darn Tough Women's socks at Backcountry.com, but I know they have a much larger variety of women's socks at their website. I've never worn them of course, but I won a pair of Women's DT socks once and gave them to a friend and she LOVES them. Tells me every time she has them on (which is often).

I'm a US 11.5 men's, A or B width. I have some Darn Tough socks (micro crew, boot socks, in-town), and they fit exceptionally well, but I don't have trouble with most other socks so your foot might be narrower than mine. Icebreaker's Hike Mid socks seem perhaps a little narrower, so you might investigate a pair of them as well. On the bright side, you'll make a lifetime friend if you try a pair and have to give it away :)
