Blister-free, padded, and supportive? Darn Tough is right.

Darn Tough gave the Merino Wool Micro Crew Cushion Hiking Sock a dash of spandex so your trail-tromping paws stay extra comfy while you tick off the miles. The Micro Crew blows away your heavy, itchy wool socks with its built-in elastic arch support and high-density padding in the heel and toes . Darn Tough built these midweight beauties with merino wool that’s naturally resistant to stinky odors and breathes moisture to keep your feet blister-free.

    Best Socks On The Market

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs large

Darn Tough makes the best socks on the market. Can wear multiple days in a row on the trail with no issues.

    Pros:
    Durable
    Prevent blisters
    Dry Quickly

    Cons:
Attract every sticker and piece of grass
Run a little large, recommend buying a size smaller. I wear a 10.5 and medium fits perfectly.

    Excellent quality

Our family loves Darn Tough socks for their durability, and my dad was excited to get these as a gift. These socks really do last longer than most other brands. They are a great thickness and fit very well. They work well with hiking boots or trail running shoes. Will definitely be buying more as a gift for my dad!

      Great quality all around sock!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

Darn Tough is a really high quality sock! They last forever. They are the type of sock you can get by with just 3 pairs on an 8 day expedition. They are super comfy, thick high quality wool. Awesome! Smartwool and Darn Tough are my top 2 sock brands, I wouldn't be able to pick one over the other, but Darn Tough does say "Darn Tough" on the toe, which is a fun conversation starter.

      Best socks I own

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL

Comfortable, durable, keep your feet dry, come in good colors - what else could you ask for? No problems with blisters. As someone with large feet (15 DD) I was worried they'd fit strange. An XL has been great for me and they haven't shrunk yet. Couldn't recommend them enough.

      Love these Socks.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL

I was in the market for some new hiking socks and these fit he bill perfectly. They keep you feet dry and comfortable all day.

      Finally

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large

I like nice socks and it's even better if they fit. These are great socks and fit just like they are supposed to, a size 9 men's is a large size. I'll be waiting for them to go on sale again so I can stock up.

      I was skeptical

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Size Bought: medium

Yep, they are as good as everyone says they are. Bought 3 pair and love 'em. I wear a size 9.5 shoe and the mediums were perfect. Washed/dryed them inside out like recommended and they did not shrink. Go ahead and buy your last pair of socks!

      Great hiking sock.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I wear an 8.5 or 9 shoe, the medium size of these fit very nicely. On both long hikes and every day use these socks have performed very well. The cushion makes all the difference in comfort, and they stay up nicely, not falling around the ankles as lower quality socks may. Highly recommend these socks.

My father has become OCD about his socks

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL

I remember my father wearing cotton socks when I was growing up. He converted to merino with hesitance up front, but has never looked back. He has worn many different brands of merino socks since then, and these are his first experience with Darn Tough. He said they are true to size, comfortable, and moisture wicking. He can't wait to test them out hiking.

      The BEST sock, ever!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I've got one pair of these I bought 3 seasons ago, and several I've bought since and the oldest pair still look/feel brand new. Super comfy, even with several wears between washing. Never get any blisters, hot spots or bunching with these babies.

      Save Your Sole

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

Get these socks. I have strayed occasionally, but nothing ever compares to the wonder that is Darn Tough. Comfortable, durable, perfect. Never too hot or cold, perfect wicking action, never falls down around my ankle. I have never gotten a blister when wearing these socks, and if you're pushing for an ultra light weight backpacking trip, you can probably get three days of use from 1 pair before the smell becomes a problem.

      Best socks period!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I have put countless miles on and off the trail on my Darn Tough socks and they are no worse for the wear! I look forward to they day when I can cash in on their infamous ironclad warranty! I preach to anyone who will listen on how awesome these socks are!

I have a narrow foot and find that socks...

I have a narrow foot and find that socks that are for men and women are too bulky. Does Darn Tough have socks for women?

Dorothy, I have what I call a crow foot for a man. Size 9 very slim and narrow foot. I bought a size large pair in these socks to try out and see how they woulf fit thinking that they probably would be too large, but I'd rather too large than too small...obviously. The large hug my crow feet very well and I luv these socks so much that I bought the last two pair of celery green (hehe) pairs that they had left. I will definitely be buying up a few more pairs of these, although I'm sad bout the celery green color disct. (I'm a hunter and love the camo aspect of the colors). But to answer your overall question I would not be scared to buy these socks as a woman cuz if the large snugly fit my crow feet then I am sure they will do you well! Did I mention I LUV these socks? BC does have some women's socks listed for Darn Tough, but as I said...even the unisex should be fine!

There are a few patterned pairs of Darn Tough Women's socks at Backcountry.com, but I know they have a much larger variety of women's socks at their website. I've never worn them of course, but I won a pair of Women's DT socks once and gave them to a friend and she LOVES them. Tells me every time she has them on (which is often).

I'm a US 11.5 men's, A or B width. I have some Darn Tough socks (micro crew, boot socks, in-town), and they fit exceptionally well, but I don't have trouble with most other socks so your foot might be narrower than mine. Icebreaker's Hike Mid socks seem perhaps a little narrower, so you might investigate a pair of them as well. On the bright side, you'll make a lifetime friend if you try a pair and have to give it away :)
