Description

Run or bike comfortably in warm weather in the breathable Darn Tough Merino Wool No-Show Mesh Socks.

The open-mesh knitting on the top of the Darn Tough Merino Wool No-Show Mesh Sock makes these socks lightweight and extremely breathable. Soft, non-itchy merino wool pulls sweat away from your feet to the surface of the sock where it can evaporate. Darn Tough added nylon for durability and Lycra around the arch for a foot-hugging fit. Your feet can go the distance in these low-cut socks, and they'll stay dry and cool, even in balmy temps.

Versatile warm weather sock

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I just bought my second pair of these socks and use them for a variety of activities in the summer. My GF has the women's version and she loves hers as well. They are light enough to run in but with the ankle design they are also very comfortable to wear with a 1/4 hiking boot (Merrell Moabs or Salomon Quest GTX). The color selection isn't great but they're socks so I'm not bothered. Being wool and fairly thin these socks dry very quickly. I've brought them on climbing trips and even though I sweat alot on the hike in, they will be bone dry after a 10 minute ascent if they are left in the sun. Also took them on a recent backpacking trip to Mt. Hood and they were very comfortable hiking 10 miles a day. Are they warm? I wouldn't know since they are more of a summer sock for me. I would recommend a 1/4 sock with cushion if you're looking for some more warmth and comfort. But for a fairly light do anything sock these rule. I wear size 12/13 shoe and wear an XL.

great socks

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Man, it's like running barefooted, these socks are so light and cool when running in them. i'm going back to buy more for my runs. best socks so far.

Too big for me...

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

I wear a size 7.5 shoe most times. Depending on shoe, from 7 to 7.5 actually. Foot is 24cm actual size. The mediums for me were too big, making them uncomfortable. I'll be returning them. Wish BC had them in small, would be perfect.

Good as new

Got these socks just before an extended backcountry trip with the intention of throwing them away at the end. After wearing them for a month and a half, with a few rinses in streams, they were still good as new when out of the wash. I run in them all the time and am stunned how well they continue to hold up. They might be magic, because they just don't wear out.

A sock that will outlast you

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you are the trail running light and fast type, these socks are great, I have taken these through just about any condition you can think of and they performed well, after 10 days canyoneering in Escalante my smartwool socks of similar design wore out to the point of retirement, Darn Tough says it best, these socks will stand strong when the going gets tough!

These are the best! Made in VT which is reason enough to buy them but they also stand up to a lot fo abuse. Darn Tough has my business for a long time to come.

Not meant for a human foot

These are just awkward. I have other wool performance socks that are wonderful. But these have a spherical shaped toe area which creates an awkward fit and feel. Definitely returning these.

Went back for seconds!

If you look through the reviews you will see that I bought a pair of these in 2009. Well I just recently bought another pair which should tell you something. I primarily use these socks for running either on trail or road and either hot or cold days. They are a really good all around sock and really high quality. Now if you are a really serious runner I wouldn't necessarily use these on race day or a really hot day, but I personally have a few other socks for those situations.

Best Sock Ever

I love these socks for biking, running, and at the gym. Excellent support for the arch, mesh up top for comfort, and merino wool.

Great sock!

These socks are really comfortable and supportive. They really seem to allow your feet to breath. Definitely noticeable after wearing regular cotton socks.

Awesome socks

They're tough and feel like I'm barefoot (in a good way). Love them.

Here's me fishing in them.

Stoked about... socks?

Who knew socks could make your day awesome? With these, your feet will be super comfortable, and DRY. I have super gnarly sweaty feet from running, and these breathe like a dream, and best of all, wool is naturally anti-bacterial, so they stay smelling fresher longer.

Total comfort!

Lightweight material and not to mention extremely comfortable. They also limit the uncomfortable wet feeling during workouts. Certainly worth the money.

Best socks I own!!!

I use these socks mostly for running and hiking but they are comfortable enough that you can use them for whatever. I have several pair of SmartWool socks that I love but these are hands-down my favorite. And it is true what everyone says, they do last about a solid week before they start to smell. My only problem is that I now refuse to wear anything except wool on my feet.

Love...

I bought one pair of these last year and they are "Darn Tough” I wear them cycling and running and they're the best socks I've ever owned hands down and absolutely worth every penny. I'm back to buy as many as my wallet can stand...buy them and you'll love them like I do.

Wow!

Never owned any Darn Tough product before, but I will be owning more in the future. This socks wicks very well, and the Merino wool keeps the stench down to zip. This sock fits my foot like a glove, and even after numerous wearings and washings it has kept its shape beautifully and shown no signs of wear. Super product!

great comfy sock

I have them only for a short time, so I cannot evaluate how long they'll last. Light. Use them for running and they keep the feet dry and comfy.

Best Lightweight Socks

Darn Tough certainly does make darn tough socks-these lightweight socks are amazingly resilient for how thin they are. And of course, the ventilation is great; my feet sweat A LOT, and yet these keep them cool all day. If you're a fanatic about breathability and durability, these socks are perfect.
