The Darn Tough Merino Wool 1/4 Mesh Socks give your feet blister-free bliss on your summer bike trip or trail run.

The Darn Tough Merino Wool 1/4 Mesh Sock is an ankle-high sock with open-mesh knitting on top that enables your hardworking hooves to breathe. As you trail run or mountain bike, these merino wool socks pull perspiration away from your feet to keep them dry, even on hot days. Darn Tough added nylon to these lightweight socks and reinforced the heel and toe to make them tough. Elastic around the arch gives you a snug fit, so your sock won't bunch or wrinkle and give you blisters.

Tied for best trail running sock

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this for trail running. Nice tight weave helps keep too much dirt getting in (you'll never keep it all out on dusty trails, of course). I've run it on wet and dry courses for 100 miles without changing. These wear really well and are the best made socks I have run in. They look new after several hundred miles. I prefer Drymax socks for long slogs with lots of water, but Darn Tough is my favorite everyday trail running sock. Never had an issue with blisters or comfort.Keep your toenails filed down and they will last a LONGGGGGGGGG time!

Best socks

These socks are the best fitting, toughest socks that I have owned, better than Feetures. They don't squeeze your feet like other athletic socks.

Long lasting

I've had one pair of these in my rotation of socks for "real" activity (biking/hiking/running) for about 6 years now. They've outlived all my other socks. Spending $15 bucks or so on socks isn't fun or exciting, but it's great to only have to do it twice a decade. I'm going to order a couple pairs now and just hope they last as long! They're light, breathable, and wool for the win.

Minimalist sock

These socks are awesome...if you're looking for a wool sock that doesn't add weight, is incredibly breathable (mesh on top), and offers little padding. Don't expect this sock to cushion you for anything, because it won't. But, if you like to have as little sock as possible between you and your shoe, but want that sock to keep your feet dry, then get this sock.

Oh Yeah!

I'm a big fan of these things. These are ultra thin however are holding up better than i could ever have imagined. Fantastic warm weather socks.

These are the best socks ever. They fit like I don't have socks on and really wick away the excess. I wil be buying more.

Great for Chaco hiking

My Gosh.

What a majestic sock. Spent 6 months hiking on the Appalachian Trail, wearing Chacos. Rain, dry weather- this sock was the ticket. Never a blister. (Never!) I went through several types of sock before finally! ordering these. I hiked about 300 miles in a pair (wearing every day, walking hard all day, washing every 7-10 days), they developed a small hole at 300 miles. But that beats the tar out of every other sock I tried. They probably would have lasted longer if I washed them more often (or didn't wear them for 12 hours of hard walking day in, day out).

They dry quickly, shake dust, conform to feet perfectly, vent like a dream. Darn tough is right!

I LOVE these socks. I thruhiked the whole AT in 08, and these are my favorite socks by far. They are so freakin darn tough...and comfy...and I'm really excited to see them so cheap!!!

It's a sock

I haven't used these too much, but they seem to be good socks. The are just a bit too short for ankle high hiking boots, and didn't dry as fast as I would have thought hanging off my pack. Other than that, they are comfortable and do a fairly good job of keeping my sweaty feet happy when a bit damp.

Backcountry list the country of origin as China. I thought all darn tough socks were made in Vermont. Where's the mistake here?

These are awesome socks. I've used them mostly for running and they are perfect. After my last round of unimpressive Smartwool running socks, I went looking for something better. These are it.

Absolutely the best

These things cost a small fortune, but they are absolutely, unequivocably the best socks I've ever owned. They are light, elastic, snug, breathable, tough, don't get smelly, look great, keep their elasticity. Nothing else I've ever tried comes close.

As Bomb Proof as Socks Come

I love Merino wool, there are no doubts about that. That being said, these are the most bombproof socks out there bar none. What they have in durability they lose a little in cushion. Comfort wise, they feel snug, but no the most breathable. I still love them, but they are not my go to for running or biking, but a great sock to stand all day in at the shop. Again, the most durable sock out there (but lets see what Point 6 has to offer)

These socks rule

Love these socks. I will never buy Smartwool socks again. All of my Smartwools have holes in the bottom of them after about 6 months. These socks are much more durable. I love the feel too. Buy them--you'll love them.

I'm Backing Darn Tough

Favorite socks ever! Yes I am a merino lover and pretty much go head-to-toe in the stuff, but Darn Tough kills it making a great fitting, well made product. I'd suggest any one of their socks.

Old Favorites

Fantastic socks for long distance hiking. I've used this model on five different 500+ mile hikes and they have been perfect. Much more durable than SmartWool thin socks.
