Really Love 'Em!

I bought these in Cordovan Cabrio and they look fantastic!! They really feel supportive and I think that they improve my posture.

However, I have very difficult feet which are very, very prone to blisters and bleeding and I made the mistake after wearing them at work (office) to take them for a day to stroll home (40 min.) without socks or bandaid protection. They felt great until about block 30 and by the end, I had 1 large blister on a heel and cuts where the straps and top of the shoe cut into the top of my foot.

I took about a week and a half off from wearing them and now am trying to break them in with socks. They feel comfortable, but I don't think I'll be able to walk any distance without socks anytime soon...

Love the Shoes.. but have one complaint

By:
January 1, 2010

I purchased the Marcelle Cabrio and love the color and the look but I am still struggling with the seam on the outside of my right foot. It's the seam that would hit right at the bone that is below my little toe. I have a wider foot but have never had to buy a wide shoe. I read a review where another girl struggled with the same thing but she said after a break in period she didn't feel it anymore so I kept them, have worn them a lot, and now my foot is sore in my other shoes. I've decided to give my foot a break from them until it isn't sore anymore and then wear them sparingly. I still love the shoe but wish I would have sent them back right away and traded for a different pair to see if it's just this shoe. Dansko's are hand made so every shoe is going to fit a bit differently.

Hi, I'm commenting on my own review! I have to say that backcountry just traded my shoes for me even when I had worn them. My new pair does not rub on the right side of my foot! They are so awesome there!!

Size 42 EU will fit approximately 11 to 12 US womens. I wear between 11 and 12, and I have these in size 42 EU and they fit perfectly for me (even with the slide up and down motion everyone mentions in the heel). Take it for what it's worth. They run slightly large.

You would want a 42.0

Fatal Attraction

By:
February 23, 2010

I LOVED these when I first bought them.. I have the red patent leather gals. I read a few reviews about this thing called 'turning ankles' and was like.. ha! Not me and my cankles.. we don't turn.
Boy, was I wrong.
My ankle turned in these beauties and before I knew it I was bloody in the parking lot of Target. And Humiliated.
So although I love them, and they were comfy and supportive, and finally something that wouldn't KILL me after a long day of teaching, I can't wear them any longer. I get flashes of 'what if I fell in them walking down the stairs' or 'what if I fell in them while at the fair and a small child was below'. I've been too tramatized.
But they're SOOOO cute in red pat.! !

I did the exact same thing!
At work, infront of about 10 staff, and even a patient being transported on a cot! Even the patient looked up to ask if I was ok! Was sooo embarrassed. I've had mine for about 2-3 months, and think I've finally gotten it down so it doesn't happen anymore (almost fell 2 other times).

You would wear a size 38. And when you wear them, you should have lots of toe room and a pinky widths length between your heel and the back of the shoe. So it should fit like an open back clog with your heel moving up and down. It takes about a day to get used to the fit, but you will love it!!

not impressed

By:

Hi-I purchased 3 pairs of these Marcelles and I loved them-for about 4 months---Until the side seams began to rip, on each pair, at separate times, but around the same period. One would rip, then I'd be forced to wear another--It would rip, and so on, until all three pairs tore, at the seam, on the sides-making them loose and unwearable. Not a very wise investment at over $100.00 per pair. They looked very cute on, and they even felt great, until they started to wear out at the seams, and dansko.com would not help to correct the problem, even with a warrantee on each pair. Save yourself the pain, expense and disappointment, and buy a decent pair of shoes, because these are not it.

i have 3 pairs of the old style for about 5 years now. i think it's the new shoes made in china that are the issue.

Dionne,
I have had the same experience. I am a nurse and I have had my Marcelles for less than a year and both side seams have come undone. Definitely not worth the price if they don't even last a year. The fit was great...were plenty loose, but there is definitely a flaw in the design of these shoes.
