The Dale of Norway Men's Roaldshorn Vest uses stretch side panels and Gore Windstopper technology to bring wool back to the future. Whether you wear it over a sweater during balmy spring days, or as a layering piece in the depths of winter, the Roaldshorn's windproof, weather-resistant wool construction will keep your core protected from blustery breezes and insulated against the cold. Stretch Taifun 3-layer panels in key areas allow this vest to fit trim to your torso to slide under shells with ease, while the high collar locks out drafts around your neck.
Bottom Line: The Roaldshorn takes the traditional vest to a new level of functional good looks.
Okay, on this vest you get what you pay for, it's excellent. High quality and the word windstopper was created for this. I sized up to wear it over a heavy sweater and it's still a bit to large.
Never heard of the brand name before but this is by far the best of best in windproof comfort, good looks and safety (reflective stripe). I don't usually like wool but I thought to give it a try after I researched the product!
I live just below the snow level (So. Tahoe) and enjoy the outdoors but hate the bundling: a vest is always best with a long sleeve pro-shel that's easy to take off as soon as snow or rain stops.
I'd recommend this vest for the serious outdoor people who appreciate the good stuff!

I picked up this vest and absolutely love it!!! The windstopper keeps out even whipping wind and the wool weave outer works well with light rain/snow. The only interesting thing was the sizing. I got both this vest and the Totten jacket. This vest does have snug armholes but I found that the size large body portion fit like a normal large. The armholes could use a little extra room but aside from that sizing seemed very true to size for me. This thing is definitely worth the money, and there aren't 3 million of them around town!
Dale windstopper products do a liner. i wear a full Dale windstopper with a light wool undershirt in all but the nastiest conditions. well worth the extra ducks and if cared for will last a lifetime.
Excellent vest that looks good in town as well as on the mountain. Cut a bit small so consider up-sizing but a very warm piece. Dale of Norway always delivers, so you know this will last and you will turn a few heads for sure.
wore this in my trial period in rainy NW England & Scotland. On its own it was fine in the most fashionable of pubs...on its own it was fine in the chilly breeze of the Irish Sea...on its own it was fine in the Scottish walks...with a decent & properly sized GoreTex it was uber-great in wet, windy, chilled weather!
Depends! If you need a really, really nice vest and want something that's extremely rare wherever you go then it's worth the dough. These vests last an incredible amount of time. They move well, they're very comfortable and again, you'll never see them around town or the slopes or most anywhere else, unless you're in Norway. I saw them when I was in Norway and they were kind of a staple of outerwear over there. Be careful because if you pick this up you'll be addicted to it......Hope that helps.
Great vest, awesome quality and incredible function. Again Dale of Norway is combining new technology of Gore windstopping with classic norwegian yarn. Looks great, works greats and durable quality which you will enjoy for a long time.
I was looking for a low profile vest and ordered this in my normal size of Large, but found the armholes are a bit small for me. Overall I probably could have gone up a size since DON seems to run a bit small, but as it is BC doesn't have an XL in stock. The wool that they use is very rough on the outside, but it creates a unique look. BTW care for this is hand wash ONLY
Smooth fit with great looks. Had to get a large as medium, my usual choice, was just too tight. Large allows a heavier shirt underneath. Best vest I've ever had.
I liked the vest a lot but they are cut small across chest and gut. I usually wear a Med and have no problem with most but this one is cut small. Order one size up. Got the Large and it's great.
