It rocks most of the same technology as Dalbello's Krypton big-mountain-freeride boots—a pre-punched Contour 4 shell fit, Dynalink rearfoot retention system, and center-balance Rocker stance for prime out-of-the-box fit, heel hold, and big-ski performance, respectively—but has been hooked up with an integrated ski/hike mode in the cuff to make your favorite backcountry stashes that much more accessible. The Lupo's more of an in-bounds boot with a backcountry jones than a serious touring boot, but if you love riding lifts, hiking for turns, and slapping on the skins from time to time, it'll give you an ideal balance of shredding and hiking performance.

Instead of the classic alpine-style solid sole, Dalbello designed the Lupo with grippy and replaceable toe and heel lugs, which help out when you're hiking up rocky ridges or just traversing icy parking lots.
