Here's what others have to say...

It's cramtastic!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I needed something between my mega huge "I'm leaving for months on end with all my favorite things" bag and my "on the large end for a cary on" bag. This totally fits the bill and is my new go to.

Fits weird to travel with things like my tent, yoga matt, nutribullet!! Has smartly placed compartments that you can shove things into their own little travel hole. I'm able to have my sleeping bag & pad on one end. My yoga matt, backpacking pack and clothing in the middle and all my camping kitchen on the other end. Also, in the middle area has these smart little mesh compartments what are home to my socks, undies & toiletries. And this bag always magically has room for more!

This bag seems pretty heavy duty, too. Nice strong zipper on it. The telescoping handle has a little wiggle to it but hasn't given me any trouble yet. The wheels seem super durable. Also, it's now survived several airlines without any damage!

I should mention that this bag is light weight for its size and durability. 3/4 packed on my last trip, it weighted only 31lbs on the airport scale. Pretty cool when you want to avoid paying extra for an overweight bag.

What are the bag dimensions: LXWXH?

Hey Jennifer,

The exterior dimensions of this bag are 30" x 16" x 15.5." Hope this helps.

Best bag ever!

Plenty of room, easy to maneuver, just what I was hoping for. Not to mention- great design.

cool beans

This thing is sweet! I can pack just about anything in this and tote it around easily.

We need a duffle that can accommodate our telescoping trekking poles. I can?t tell if the top opening is too small to get poles inside. Or are the other zipper compartments where you would put them? My husband?s folds to about 29 inches.

Best Answer

Even with the size of the opening of the main pocket on this duffle bag, I would be hesitant to say that you could fit trekking poles inside here without them being pressed against both sides of the top and bottom (or left and right side, depending on how you're viewing it, I suppose) pockets, which could potentially result in puncture of the separating fabric, at least on the part where the carbide tips are poking. If it didn't have the pockets on both ends, I would be a little more generous in stating that you may have leeway squeezing one or two sets of poles in, but from the video that I posted above, it doesn't look as though it would easily hold poles that long, if at all.

Big N' Beautiful

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Love this bag since I got it! It's more than enough space for a week trip and the Newport style is pretty rockin'. I certainly don't have an issue when trying to find it on the baggage carousel. Also, the wheels on this are very smooth and don't make any noise. Great product, guys.

Picked this bag up at the end of the season after a trip because I needed more room for my gear and when I got the bag first thing I noticed its huge! I think I can fit in it not gonna try but just saying.. Big tough looking zippers, side pockets and I like the carry straps they are thick and look like they can hold a ton of weight. Great design!

Use as my luggage bag.

I primarily bought it because I wanted something different than the standard black luggage to stick out at the airport luggage carousel. About the same size as a regular luggage bag (if you want huge go with the large gear bag) . I like the nets on the insides as mentioned in other reviews as well. Plenty of room for a full week pack of regular travel for sure. Initial impressions/use so I have not put it through the ringer yet.

Just thought I'd mention that that gradient color bag is made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.

this bag is great.. big enough to fit lots of gear and has nets inside to separate things awesome feature. wheels roll very well and the bag is much lighter than others I've had. worth the money would buy again in a second.

    Bag itself is great, BUT...

After 2-3 times checking it, the handle mechanism gets squished and inoperative. Which is too bad, because otherwise I love this bag. (I sill have my non-wheeling duffel which has lasted me for YEARS but of course is really heavy to lug around.) Unfortunately, I've had this exact same problem with previous Dakine roller bag. Question is: because their price point is so much lower, is it worth having to buy a new one every couple of years? Or get something more expensive where the handle is gonna be more durable. This time around, I'm opting for a different brand.

    This thing is awesome!

Got it for a trip back to the east coast and it's awesome. I fit 2 pair of shoes and hiking boots with about 10 days worth of clothes no problem. Big, great quality, zippers are legit, wheels are replaceable AND they roll smooth as hell!

    Lots of room

Does great for international flights! It helped me pack for a whole year in South Korea

      Super Burly

After 2 consecutive years of winter travels the bag is still in great shape. Usually a zipper will blow out, or a seam will rip, maybe a broken strap or wheel base. Nothing! Holds enough gear to travel for 3 months on the road easily.
