Sweaty palms should be reserved for horror movies and first dates, not bike rides, so Dakine hooked the Ventilator Men's Glove up with obscene amounts of mesh to keep your hands cool and comfortable. The upper and palm are both made of mesh—the palm is reinforced—and the only non-mesh area is the thumb, which is made of moisture-wicking and breathable microfleece for nose and sunglasses wiping. There's also lightweight gel padding on the palm to help your hands stay unbruised, and a low-profile hook-and-loop closure that keeps dirt and grime sealed out.

    • Stretchy nylon mesh upper

    • 3mm gel palm padding
    • Microfleece thumb panel
    • Touchscreen compatible
    • Hook-and-loop closure

    poor durability

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Lightweight yes .... cost effective yes ... but they started ripping @ 3 different spots in the seams after just 3 rides. after 5 rides, the palm seam blew apart all together. I appreciate bc.com allowing me to return these, but I wouldn't bother with these in favor of spending more on something durable.

    Good for what they are

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I think the common theme with the glove is that they are good for hot humid conditions just not for wrecks. the first time i fell on them i had a hole but that is one of the consolations for a light breathable glove i suppose.

    Poor durability!!

Yes, they ventilate very well. BUT, as another reviewer has already noted, the durability of these gloves is severely lacking. The palm leather if very thin. Mine ripped only after a few rides. I've taken no falls on them.

    One Fall That's all

These gloves are nice and lightweight for hot days on the trails. However they are not the most durable. After only a few rides the stitching started coming undone between my thumb and first finger on the palm side. Then I took a spill. Although they protected my hand the stitching attaching the mesh fabric to the heavier fabric on the palm failed.

Perfect for those hot weather days

These gloves are thinner than what I'm used to wearing. I typically wear the Sentinels and coming from those, these feel like they have less bulk and of course no 3D0 padding. That being said, ventilation is the primary goal of these gloves. The palms have thin padding but nothing like the 3D0 pads. I'm keeping them as an extra set for now ... for the searing hot summer days.

    Great lightweight glove

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Full-finger protection, cool as shorties! I have worn these gloves several times in moderate temperatures (60s and 70s deg F) and I like the way they fit and feel. I used to own a thicker pair of full-finger gloves from Fox... the gloves were great, but only in cold weather, otherwise my hands would sweat to death! With the Ventilators, I can feel the breeze flowing through my gloves and cooling my hands. This is a relatively lightweight glove, but protection and padding on the palms is still good. I've gone down a couple of times at low speed, and not a scratch on my hands. I'd buy again. Go for it!

    Very nice lightweight glove

These gloves are super breathable and very flexible. You can use your smartphone just fine with them on and they have just the right amount of gel to give you padding without digging into your palms on long rides. I'll buy another pair when these go out.
